How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009858 / WP6-3129480 Dryer Drum Roller Axle

Purchased multiple factory spec replacement parts through AppliancePartsPros.com. Culprit was worn out 1 of 2 drum support rollers and shaft bearings. Decided to replace all related parts: drum support roller x2 (comes with 2 washers); drum roller axle x2; drum belt; drum guide x2 (called tumbler bearing kit and comes with required replacement rivets); belt tension pulley/roller (does not come with required replacement washers); belt tension pulley/roller washers (x2); idler arm spring. Idler arm itself was still in good shape so did not replace - but did replace the idler arm sleeve. Note: use snap ring pliers to remove each snap ring holding the drum roller in place. Will save to time and hassle. 

Took the tensioner off cleaned up with 0000 steel wool ,then 400 grit Emery cloth,then 800 sandpaper.put new roller on.worked great 

Did general overhaul- replacement of belt, drum rollers & shafts, belt tension pulley and idler arm with shaft and spring, and front drum nylon friction bearings. Used high temp disk break grease to lubricate roller drum shafts and idler arm belt tension pulley shaft and motor mount friction point pivot bolt area. Also used shop vac to vacuum years of lint and dust accumulation from inside of dryer cabinet housing. 

Replaced the WHIRLPOOL Drum Support Roller. Needed snap ring pliers and some patience to get the dryer drum belt back on but it was easy enough. If you are reading this you probably know or at least have a good idea what's wrong. From this point on it's at most 3 more hours of work/research total even for someone who knew nothing about dryer repair. Actual repair took me (a total newbie) just over an hour. 

Replaced the belt-the support rollers-and installed a new timer 

Replaced belt tension pulley two drum rollers an belt. 

The dryer is ~25+ years old. Replaced the drum support rollers (showed obvious wear), drum roller axles (both had wear. One was discolored due to heat). Replaced the dryer drum belt (it was original and was cracked). Videos that were provided on the website gave good information, so I knew what to expect. My dryer was a bit different, but the videos were still valuable. My repair may have taken a little longer than most since I also vacuumed out the inside of the dryer and the vent areas. Put everything together. Did a few manual rotations to seat the belt and parts. Put in place and re-leveled the dryer and started it up. It was extremely quiet! 

I went to Appliance parts pros, typed in the problem, ordered the recommended parts/belts. I watched the repair video and when the parts arrived I fixed the problem. Everything went well. 

Used my 25-yo tech-savvy son. He used your website to find all the parts, watched quite a few tutorial videos, watched more videos, ordered parts, fixed it with only minor "hold this, Mom" help from me and ta-da. Amazing, thanks so much. Sanity may return. 

I replaced the brake assembly and bearings on the washer in addition to the belt, idler pulley, drum rollers and axles on the dryer.
