Ron August 02, 2023 for Model Number DE9800 How would I know when the axles are worn? I replaced the rollers and idler wheel a couple years ago and noticed the roller axles were shiny but discolored. The idler axle was pitted, but I was told none of the axles should need replacing, but now I'm hearing rumbling and rattling. Is it possible the roller and/or idler axles are bad and the new rollers have worn out too?
1 Answer Ron. If they are pitted and discolored you will likely need to replace them as well. Read More...
Al July 08, 2021 for Model Number MDE9606AYE dryer making a lot of noise, do i need to change both drum roller, and both drum roller axle pins?
1 Answer Al, if one of the drum rollers 12001541 have failed, it is usually best to replace them both so that there is even wear. In regards to the axles WP6-3129480, they would only need to be replaced if there is excessive wear. However, it would be recommended that the blower wheel and the drum felt are both inspected to identify if there is any debris or damage that could be causing the noise. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Nick without the serial number, we cannot find the manufacture date, find out however the model debuted in 2005. Read More...
Steve August 02, 2017 for Model Number MDG6200AWW My dryer had a loud squeaky noise and upon inspection, it sounded like it was originating from the drum wheels. Following your awesome instructions, I installed new wheels only to hear the squeak continue. So, I proceeded, again with your awesome instructional video, to replace the axles but the squeaking persists. When I listen with the front off and turn the dryer on, it still sounds like the sound is coming from the wheels, but that must not be the case. What else could be causing the squeak which sounds like metal on metal? Appreciate your feedback. Thanks, Steve
1 Answer Steve, Try putting a small layer of axle grease on the axles of the unit which should correct this issue. Read More...
Sam S. March 23, 2017 for Model Number Matag model #LDE5005ACE Is this an older style or a newer style dryer?
Misha K. November 25, 2014 I just bought a second-hand stackable gas washer/dryer Frigidaire unit from a second-hand/appliance refurbishing store. When I used the dryer on top there were a bunch of little centimeter or so little pegs/bolts that came out with my dried load. I heard the dryer making more "clinking" noise than usual but just thought it must be that there were a bunch of zippers clinking around in the dryer... I figured out when I got all the clothes out that there were six of these little metal loose pegs/bolt things in there. There was a little F on the end of each one which I assume stands for "Frigidaire". Now I'm worried that something came apart or is falling apart inside my dryer... But the thing is that the dryer is working great. No weird noises, its turning great, and heating up great, etc... So these little pegs were just in there but nothing else seems to be wrong except that now I'm freaked out about what they are? I looked it up and they look a little like some of the drum roller axles I've seen. So my question is this: Could my dryer work properly and with no problems if the drum roller axles fell out? Also, is there anything else that you could think of that those little pieces might be other than drum roller axles? I'm hoping and thinking maybe that when the repair shop refurbished my unit that they put new drum roller axles in (or maybe other parts if that's not what those pieces are) that they left the old ones somehow "in" the unit and they spilled out into the dryer when I did my load... I don't know how else my dryer could seem to be functioning perfectly when pieces seem to have fallen out. If you can shed any light as to my above questions and if you think that my speculation that the old pieces may have somehow been left in is a possibility I would greatly appreciate any help! Just a worried mom here who has no more money to spend on breaking-down appliances and I would SO appreciate anyone who is smarter than me about this stuff to help me. Thanks so much!
1 Answer Misha, Just because the little screw had a F on them does not reference that they are Frigidaire. It is possible that someone could have left something in their pockets and this is where it is from. Read More...
Kathy L April 07, 2014 for Model Number MDE3600AYQ I have order #4242322. I have switched out each of those parts and my dryer is still not heating. I am wondering if there is a mother board in the dryer or if you can suggest anything else that could make the heat not work?
1 Answer Kathy, You will want to access the heater and with the power off, remove one wire from the heater assembly. From this point you will want to plug the unit back up and turn the dryer on a heated dry cycle. You will then want to test the wire that is disconnected to ground. There should be 120 vac to this wire. If there is not then trace that wire back to its source of either the timer or the motor. If there is 120 vac then test the other wire the same and if not 120 vac then trace it back. The issue will be in one of these 2 components. Read More...

Jean Y June 25, 2013 for Model Number Maytag DE303 I've replaced the drum/motor belt and when the dryer starts it screeches but goes away once the drum rotates for a short time. Do I need to replace the drum support roller to stop the noise?
1 Answer Hello Jean. It sounds like the roller or the idler pulley causing the issue. You will need to check and see where the noise is coming from. Read More...
