Kenneth S Manhattan , IL January 22, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MDG3000AWA Maytag dryer squeaking. Problem turned out to be the Belt Tension Pulley. So, replaced Pulley and Idler Pulley Arm and while at it replaced the Idler Spring, both Drum Support Rollers and Roller Axles and the Dryer Drum Belt. Also did a thorough vacuuming of the lint that had accumulated over the years. The videos on the website of Appliance Parts Pros, are excellent in the detail of the repairs. Read More... Nikola P White Lake , MI December 30, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer LDG8414AAE Loud noises and not heating After watching the DIY videos, I was able to disassemble the dryer and locate a few problems. My blower wheel was stripped and spinning freely on the motor shaft. In fact, it had made contact with the housing and was starting to melt that plastic from the friction. I also decided to replace the tumbler bearing kit and the dryer drum belt due to wear. I also found the tensioner was stiff from old dry grease. I disassembled it, cleaned it and re-greased it. I replaced the belt since I had ordered a new one and the old one was frayed a bit. The only additional cost to me was buying a pop rivet gun and slip ring pliers since no one nearby had either tool to loan me. Finally, their telephone support was great. They helped me by phone to troubleshoot the tensioner issue. Overall, very satisfied with the experience! Read More... John T Denver , PA December 21, 2019 Dryer made a squeaky noise when in use Replaced both drum roller supports and the belt tension pulley and roller. The video was very, very helpful. However, two steps were missing but I was able to figure out without the video. There were two additional screws at the bottom of the opening that needed to be removed in order to take it off and there was also one additional wire that needed to be disconnected. I did have trouble with the ring clip removal but eventually got them with a screwdriver. The repair would have been extremely quick had I not done a very thorough cleaning inside the dryer. Everything was wiped down very meticulously! I attempted to replace the dryer drum roller axles, but was unable to loosen the bolt and had a hard time accessing the bolts. Read More... Willis S Wake Forest , NC October 27, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE5500AYW I had a chattering sound while my Maytag Neptune dryer was running. I assumed that there was a problem with the idler/support wheel(s) in the back of the dryer I ordered parts from Appliance Parts Pros... because I was taking the dryer apart, I decided to order several of the wear parts and replace them as well. I disassembled the dryer, starting with the front cover, then the front bulkhead. I was careful to document what screws went where and where wires that I needed to detach were connected removed the drum and cleaned the interior and all parts by vacuuming and wiping. I replaced the tension wheel, the idler shafts, and the wheels. Then I replaced the drum front bearings and inserted the drum with a new drive belt in place. This was the trickiest part because it required the drum to be partially out of place to properly position the belt around the motor drive wheel and the spring-loaded tension wheel. What I missed initially was the importance of doing a final positioning of the belt closer to the correct position on the drum before doing larger spins of the drum. Once I did this correctly, everything worked great! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Wrench Set
