How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009858 / WP6-3129480 Dryer Drum Roller Axle

I knew that the problem was one of the drum support rollers. At first, I tried taking it off, cleaning and lubing the roller bushing and the axle on which it turns, and put it back together. That fixed it for about 3 days, and it started squeaking worse than ever. Took it apart again, and it was obvious that the shaft and bushing were worn out. There's no fixing them. When they start squeaking, they're done. Bought a new axle and roller, installed them, and it's quiet again. 

Watched the videos provided to get a better idea of the tools required and sequences. Replaced both drum support rollers and a roller axle that no longer had a smooth surface. Additionally, the belt tension pulley caught my attention. With the belt off, the old pulley just didn’t rotate without effort. Once the new belt tension pulley was mounted, it spun easily! The videos provided were invaluable to the success of this repair. 

Ordered both rollers per your Website recomendation. I followed the suggestions in the video disassembly for this model. I was surprised to view a significant difference between dryer models and their disassembly. Your video showed the same model and so saved a lot of time. There were no surprises. I changed the drum belt with your replacement part as well. 

I watched a video on line. I ordered all suspect parts. When the parts were delivered it was a snap to repair. Now we have a quiet dryer. The part of the job that took the longest was vacuuming up all the dust. 

Replaced both drum rollers and axles along with the belt an belt tension pulley. 

Since it was a noise and not a computer issue, we knew it was mechanical, so we ordered the parts that usually wear out, like the roller wheels, bearing kits, and even the small axles, and it worked! Dryer works like new again. Lots of info on the internet to help folks fix things on their own and save money. Appliance Parts Pros was especially helpful and kind as well, took my order over the phone and they were very thorough. 

Watched the instructional videos - easy 30 minute fix. Don't buy the washers separately, they come with the rollers. replace shafts with rollers. 

Replaced drum supports / shafts . Was worried about getting correct parts as I have an “old” style dryer . Parts were dead on correct ! 

Per recommendation I bought drum roller, belt pully and roller axels and with a great step by step videos that come with each part I fixed my dryer in under an hour. No more noise! To add I'm a woman with no previous experience at all! 

Took cabinet off found out fan was loose on shaft. Put a washer on shaft and a new clamp on fan end of noise now need to return parts I ordered figuring that was the problem from a previous repair.
