How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009858 / WP6-3129480 Dryer Drum Roller Axle

Watched videos on Appliancepartspro.com and replaced the tumbler bearing kit, the drum support rollers and the dryer drum belt. Took my time and gave the insides a good cleaning while I had it dissected. The videos are great at explaining how to replace each part. Took a little over two hours but I did a good cleaning and had to borrow a few tools from a neighbor (rivot gun and snap ring pliers). Probably saved myself $200-$300 in labor. Can barely hear the drying running now! Definitely something anyone can do. 

Followed Video for replacing the drum rollers, axles and drum belt. I mistakenly only ordered one tumbler bearing so left the old ones on as they actually looked pretty good. Replaced all parts as described in the video and cleaned up the cabinet area of the drier, reassembled the drier with no problems at all. The drier runs just like new and is very QUIET! Thanks for the great video ! 

Started by searching for a good appliance website. I came across appliancepartspro.com and started checking it out. The Site not only had great diagrams but also showed a video on how to replace the parts that were bad. I am by trade an auto tech and was very happy to see that they told you how to replace the parts. I had a bad drum wheel and when the dryer was running we could not hear the television not to mention the screeching was torture to our ears. After watching the short video, I was ready to tackle the job. The parts arrived in a very timely manner and about 45 mins later I was the god of dryers. Thanks for all the help and I have told all my friends were to go for their appliance parts. Keep up the great service. 

Put I. A new motor. Belt, bearings, wheels. 

One roller and pin were worn. I replaced the worn pin, both rollers, and the drum belt while I had everything apart. 

Replaced drum support rollers and bearing wear pads. 

Replaced the fiber washers on each side of the rollers 

Replace several items: 2 Drum support Rollers, 2 Drum roller axles, tension pulley, dryer drum felt seal and the drum belt. All was made really easy thanks to the videos attached to the items when purchased. Took two hours to complete. Going slow making sure no mistakes were done. 

Watched a video on youtube and had it repaired in a couple of hours. 

Removed cover, bulkhead and drum, took belt off idler and motor pulley, replaced rollers and axles, and reassembled. Save your snap rings or order new ones. About 30 minutes including vacuuming and cleaning. There are DIY videos on YouTube.
