How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009858 / WP6-3129480 Dryer Drum Roller Axle

Removed the drum and removed the roller and axle and replaced. There was a small snap ring which would have been easier if I had small enough snap ring pliers. I managed to get it off and on with a standard screwdriver and needle-nose pliers. works like new. Glad I purchased the dryer drum roller axle as it was worn out and would have had to order it and wait for it to be delivered. I suggest getting both! 

I noticed my dryer gradually started making noise as time went in. After seeing your videos I decided to take the project on rather than. Very easy fix. Replaced the gliders, support rollers and drum band. Cleaned out the dust and it works great. My washer was acting up at the time. Not so lucky on that one. Thank you appliance parts pros. 

Diassembled and replaced tumbler bearings, drum roller axles, drum support rollers, drive belt and cleaned all the lint out of dryer, blower and discharge duct. 

Googled our stock number, found your site with the most common resolutions-ordered the three parts for the top three and we were in business. Thank you so much!! 

I decided to replace the top three items that this site recommended for squeaking noise from my dryer from the middle ages - drum belt, support rollers, and drum roller axles. I'm not sure which issue it was that actually caused the noise, all I know is I spent like $60 and it didn't take very long and it was a pretty easy repair. My only issue was I didn't have a 9/16" open ended wrench for the back of the roller axles so I went out and bought a set - highly recommended since you have to reuse those nuts as the new axles do not come with replacements (don't strip them!). I also vacuumed the inside of the machine because it was disgusting, and cleaned the exterior of the drum itself before putting the new belt back on. All in all I'm very happy with the repair and hope to get another 550 years out of the machine :) 

I ordered all the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com and watched the video they provided to do the repair. 

Replaced the drum support wheels and axels, tension wheel and belt. I followed the videos from the web site. Very easy to do. 

I replaced the drum support roller and axle. Actually only one roller is defective but since I bought 2 and it is opened up, I simply replaced them for it to last another 10 years. Thanks for the excellent instructions video on your site that it enable me to replace them easily. I also take the opportunity to clean and vacuum it. It look like brand new again.
