Shanna H Gettysburg , PA October 10, 2024 Dryer made very loud squealing noises during the cycle especially at the beginning of a cycle I replaced the drum support rollers and axles, which were all very rusty. The videos on this site made it very easy - in fact, I've used this site to replace the dryer belt before, so I felt confident that I could handle this slightly more involved repair. When I took the dryer apart, I noticed the shroud seal was falling off, so I easily replaced that also. Read More... Leslie B Austin , TX March 18, 2024 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE9606AYW Grinding noise when running. First I looked at the ApplicancePartsPros.com website to see if there were any questions and answers on the site. The suggestions were to replace the rollers and drum felt . It was also suggested to replace the dryer belt. Order the parts and when they arrived, I followed the websites instructions to remove the necessary parts. Following the video's I replaced all of the parts and re-assembled. However, the noise stayed. I called AppliancePartsPros.com who ased questions about the repairs that I had made, and she determined that I probably needed to replace the Tumbler Bearings. She ordered them for me and they arrived on Sunday. Monday morning, I reviewed the videos, removed the door, frame and baffle. She was so correct. There was nothing left of the Tumbler Bearings. Drilled out the old rivets, replaced the bearings. I re-assembled. The dryer is quite and running perfectly. Hopefully, it will last another 10 years. Read More... Merlin D Apache Junction , AZ March 13, 2024 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer LDE9806ACE Dryer drum makes scraping noise when turning. Dryer is a 30 year old Maytag, so I replaced all parts that could cause the noise, as it is so old and never had anything done to it. Replaced the bearing plates, both drum wheels and shafts, and replaced the belt while I was there. Watched a YouTube video to get started and then just replaced the parts. The bearing plates had to drill out rivets but the new plates came with the new rivets. Cleaned all the lint out and put it back together and is like new, no noises. Could last another 30 years. Paid about $100 for all parts and they were factory replacements so I know got good quality to last like new. For 2 hours of work and $100, much cheaper than replacing it with a new one, and this has always been a good machine. Very happy with parts purchase. Read More... Robert L Lyons , NY January 09, 2024 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer DE313 Squeaking old Maytag dryer Replaced the support rollers. Didn’t need the belt or axles, but wanted to have them as long as I had the dryer disassembled and I’ll keep them for spares. Note: There are cheaper parts available on the internet but the reviews reveal that those cheap wheels don’t last. AppliancePartsPros.com sells real factory replacements which have lubricants embedded. The wheels I replaced were about 30 years old and these new ones I replaced may well last that long as they look the same. Read More... Bruce F Damon , TX October 14, 2023 Appliance: Model MDE7600AYW -- MAYTAG DRYER Drum support rollers worn out. Drum baffle missing. Belt tension pulley worn out and the belt broken Replaced both drum support rollers and axles. Also went ahead and replaced dryer drum belt. Had to reinstall old dryer drum belt. I did not check well enough alignment of new belt and it got shredded within 10 minutes of dryer running. Lesson learned -- double / triple check belt alignment and check to be sure it is not twisted -- must be properly installed on drum, motor pulley and tensioner roller. Once the old belt was reinstalled , everything working perfectly. Nice and quiet now. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
