When a new neighbor told my wife her Maytag refrigerator ice maker was broken, leaking air into the freezer and a repairman told her the cost would be $160 show-up fee plus parts and labor, my wife volunteered that I had fixed a similar problem on our fridge and certainly I would be glad to help. What a girl, right? So I reviewed your video on ice door repairs, then popped the cover and pulled parts until I determined that a tab was broken that held the door return spring in place. A little research on your site told me what kit I'd need, but HEY, no video. When the kit arrived the printed instructions were helpful, but the illustrations were murky and not very useful. But I soldiered through and got things put back together. But the door was slow to close and the unit still leaked. After giving it some thought I went back to the video for replacing the ice door which told me I had put the door return spring in backwards, with the flat part on the ice door, rather than against the back wall of the refrigerator. Took the spring off, reversed it and everything was great!
Now if I could just get my wife to stop volunteering me!
