How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005786 / WP21002026 Washer Snubber Ring

This repair was super easy for me except for when I had to reinstall the springs. Two of them were in such an awkward spot and you really need to pull pretty hard to get them back in place. Other than that, everything went smooth and easy. I'm really really happy with this company. The video they have was extremely helpful and easy to follow. The part was delivered the next day. I couldn't ask for a better experience. 

Followed the given video directions that are on AppliacePartsPros. I have three recommendations in addition to what they have posted 1) Replace all suspension springs and also the washer drive belt since you need to take them off to service the washer anyway. They all are parts that wear and are ready to be replaced when then snubber ring is worn. 2) Take the tub outside and wash upside down with a garden hose if you use powder detergent as you'll likely have "detergent caking" around the top and inside of the tub. 3) When reinstalling the Suspension Springs back into the washer start with the hardest to reach springs on the sides first as the more springs you add, the more tension you are working against. All in all a moderate fix that took about two hours to complete. The washer now runs just like new. I'm very glad that I replaced the springs and belt in addition to the snubber ring as all were worn. 

Replaced brake rotor and stater. 

Motor turned, pump drained on spin cycle but the tub would not spin. It was locked up tight couldn't move at all by hand. I had my doubts but ordered the thrust bearing kit, tilted the machine back like video showed and installed new parts. I must say that the e-clip did not go on as easy as the video showed. The main pulley has to be turned to just the right position to get it on. It was obvious that the thick washer was too thick so I installed the thin one and the two marks lined-up right in the middle as they should when turned by hand and the brake released. It now works great, quiet and smooth. Very happy wife!

Did some YouTube research and came across the Appliance Parts Pros channel with some very helpful video tips on diagnosing and solving my washing machine's "sickness". Replaced snubber ring, full set of drum suspension springs, and replaced the 10 year old drive belt and both hot & cold water supply hoses while I had the machine "on the operating table". Good DIY project to rejuvenate this machine for under $65 - repairs were not overly complicated but did take a while, including a much needed full cleaning of the machine - inside and out! Required removing drive belt, motor, and drum assembly, as well as a little faith that the repairs were as relatively straight forward as the APP videos made it seem. After a few hours of disassembly, repair, cleaning and reassembly, machine seems to be running good as new! 

After looking on your site for the symptons, I decided to change the snubber ring (the original ring did not look all that worn but changed it anyhow), all 6 suspension springs and the 4 front/rear legs. The rubber pads were worn out almost completely on all 4 legs. The repair went smoothly except when trying to set the pin in one of the rear leveling legs. I didn't look at the installation video which I should have, but I was able to get the pin in securely. I made a slight adjustment to the left front foot pad to make sure the machine was completely level before operating it. Now when the machine is in spin mode it is as smooth and noise free as brand new. My wife did about 6 loads of laundry over the weekend and was quite happy. In conclusion, I'm not sure which part or all the parts changed that made the difference, it still beats spending $800+ for a new washer. 

IT NEEDED A NEW SNUBBER RING...WHEN I PULLED THE WASHER OUT TO REPLACE IT,THERE WAS A PILE OF CHEWED UP OLD SNUBBER RING ON THE FLOOR .THIS VARIFIED THAT I HAD THE RIGHT PART.YOUR WEB PAGE ACTALLY HAD STEP BY STEP VIDEO ON HOW TO REPAIR THIS PART.I HAD REPLACED ALL OF THE TUB SPRINGS A FEW MONTHS PRIOR ,BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.THE SPRINGS WENT IN THROUGH THE FRONT PANEL SO I DID NOT HAVE TO MOVE THE WASHER. Replaced the snubber and springs.I found that watching the repair videos provided by your website really helped. 

Replaced snubbed ring and spring kit. Also replaced belt while servicing. Springs did not appear faulty and didn't want to replace them until i compared tension of old ones vs new ones. For approximately $50 my washing machine was completely transformed back to the reliable machine it originally was. Website like videos were very helpful.
