How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005764 / WP21001598 Suspension Spring

AFTER DISASSEMBLING IT I FOUND ONE BROKEN SPRING AND A DAMAGED SNUBBER 

The snubber ring was completely disintegrated when the washer was in the spin cycle the washer would almost walk out of the room. I also replaced the springs while I had to take them off as well. The repair was easy and the shipment of the parts were timely. Very satisfied with the parts time shipped and easy installation. With the help of the video it was a very easy to understand task. thank you. 

Following the video posted here, I replaced the snubber ring and suspension springs as well as the belt while I was in there. The video instructions were clear and easy to follow using simple hand tools and 3 1-1/2" screws in 10-24 thread size. The factory snubber ring was torn badly from years of hard use. It now runs smoothly even with heavy loads! 

After the horrible reviews on HE washers and everyone lamenting that they should have just researched parts to fix their 17 year old washers that had been been wonderful machines, I did just that. It was a 3 day mission against time as my husband was about to buy a new washer and simply wanted me to pick one I would be happy with. I cannot be thankful enough for my intuition gnawing endlessly at me enough to find all the videos from Appliance Parts Pros AND all you do-it-yourselfers who shared your input as to what you purchased to fix your washer back to brand new!!!! So yes my Maytag jumped and banged around so hard it would be in the middle of the room nearly disengaging off the wall. Upon seeing how simple the inside of a washer is, I was ecstatic to bring my findings back to my husband to convince him I absolutely did NOT want to waste $800 on an HE washer that no one seems to be happy with. Far too many cons outweigh any pros. Just replaced my snubber ring, brake stator, springs and drive belt. Ran washes. I am flipping cartwheels like brand spanking new! Thank you!!! Fifty stars from me! 

I looked at your site and found many other people with the same problem and how they used your site to finally get the correct info and parts to replace. Not only does my Washing Machine work like new but it is soooo quiet!! I have to say the video was spot on and made the job so easy. I would recommend and will recommend your company. The parts I ordered where a Snubber Ring, Six New Springs and a new Drive Belt...total cost was $46.00...WOW! Keep doing what you are doing!! Mark

The wash load was not balanced and caused the washing tub to hit the inside wall of the washer. Replaced the worn snubber ring and all springs. Did not have to remove the motor. Just removed the assembly that housed the water inlet valves(one screw). 

Replaced 6 spring. did not use suspension spring hooks that I purchased. I did not open washer up before I ordered the parts, only 3 suspension hooks are required, I purchased 6, but none were broken when I disassembled washer and looked inside. Also, upon reassemble had soft foot condition and could not resolve through self leveling so I put wood shim beneath one foot. 

My 25 year old Maytag PAV2200AWW washing machine struggled to stand still! I went to find a blow-up parts list to see if it was something I could repair. AppliancePartsPro.com had the information and repair video as well. The "Snubber ring" seemed like the obvious culprit. When I pulled the washer out to examine, I found the feet needed replacement as three of the four were bare metal on the floor. I thought I should order a new belt and suspension springs while I had it apart. The front legs were discontinued so I had to order something similar from somewhere else. The rear legs were the hardest part of the repair because they were a "self-leveling" contraption. Each leg had a roll pin that had to be knocked out to remove the old legs. This took the longest for me. I also had to grind/file the pin to get it into the new legs. Put it all back together and it works like a charm!
