How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006235 / WP22001682 Lid Switch Assembly

A friend fixed it for me . He diagnosed the problem in a short time, Called your company, ordered the parts. And, after the parts arrived, it took approximately 30 minutes. Now my machines works. Very happy! 

Replaced lid switch assembly. Now washer works properly. 

I replaced the lid switch assy, tokk about 10 min. allis well now .Part came in 2 days I was very impressed. 

Replaced the water valve. It's very easy unless your hardware is badly corroded and breaks. This is the third one that I have put in this machine so I bought two to have one in stock. Now that I have one at hand, the one in the machine won't break! 

After reviewing other stories I saw that one or both of the switches in the lid switch assembly could be at fault. I didn't think it was the lid switch itself because the washer should fill even if the lid was open. Lid switch assembly seemed like a low risk solution to try so I ordered the part and received it within two days. Repair was straightforward, but delayed somewhat because I couldn't figure out how to release the console from the top of the washer after removing back back panel, even after spending some time checking some online videos of similar, but not exactly the same, units. Finally figured out I that had to push the plastic sides forward with more force than I had tried previously. That did the trick and I had easy access to the part and connecting wires. 

Over to youtube! Watched some really good vids for troubleshooting and determined the switch assembly was the likely culprit. Recommendation was to replace the entire lid switch assembly, so I ordered one from Appliance Parts Pros and installed. APP. Com is an amazing resource - have ordered from them many times! 

Replaced the lid switch assembly. 

Installed a new Lid Switch Assembly thanks to the website's Repair Help. Just did a load of laundry with no issues. It's ready for another 30 years of service.

Rather than take a chance on choosing the wrong switch, I purchased the assembly which contained both switches, for considerably less money than buying both switches separately. Ordered new lid switch assembly. This fixed the washer. . The new part came super fast next day replaced the part washer is up and running again . Thank you
