How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985146 / W10820036 Door Switch

Removed the old switch then replaced with the new one 

I browsed some appliance troubleshooting guides and discovered that the door switch was broken. I ordered the new part, and followed the video on how to replace the switch. It only took about 15 minutes to finish the job.

1- We received it really fast. the only thing I did like too much the way that FedEx rang the bell and left, I ran behind them because I could not find the package in my mail box or anywhere else I looked. Finally I found the package under my rug because I stepped on it; luckily nothing broke, The installation was very easy following the instructions given and also the video was extremely helpful. Simple electrical troubleshooting found that one of the non-resetable fuses was bad. Easily found the parts, drawings etc. on the website. Asked for two day shipping, but got the items overnight!
