I diagnosed it by trying to reset, advancing the cycle myself, and finally putting 12 cans of Campbell's chicken noodle soup on the lid in a bag. With the soup, the washer operated correctly, so it was the lid switch rather than the timer.
I followed the nice and easy-to-follow video by AppliancePartsPros.com. It worked like a charm. I used a small-size ratchet to loosen and tighten the ground screw on the switch. Less than 15 minutes to have my washer working again. Thanks, AppliancePartsPros.com
