How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094323 / 279973 Dryer Thermal Cut-Off Kit

Replaced Dryer Heating Element, Thermal Cut Off Kit 

I ordered four components, any one of which could be the problem. While disassembling the dryer, I checked each component in question for continuity (all of the components for that circuit are wired in series). Found that the problem was the heater coil. I removed the failed coil, replaced it with the new one, and re-assembled. Dryer now works. I'll be returning the unused parts which are still in their original, unopened packages. 

I ordered the parts recommended. From reading others post’s and it’s working great now!! 

I replaced the heating element and still had no heat. So I replaced the thermal fuse and the thermostat. My dryer heats just fine. Thank you so much for always having the parts I need. 

I replace the heating element which was burn"t thru the heating coil, I also changed out the I also changed out the Thermostat and the thermal cut off . The dryer works just like new. I investigated and found that the dryer heating element had no continuity, so I ordered the dryer heating element. I first tried to get the part from Sears Appliance Parts but they showed the part as being discontinued. I then tried AppliancePartsPros.com and typed in my model and problem. I found that the web site had a section on the percentages of what part it took to repair the same problem I had. With that information, I chose to no only to order the dryer heating element, but I also ordered a dryer thermal fuse and the two thermal cut-off kit. The parts came quickly and I installed them that night.

Used the two thermal cut off parts shown to replace the 2 in the unit which wasn’t working. Job done probably saved $150 doing it my self. 

By removing the housing and replacing the heating element and both controls in the thermal cut-off kit. 

I had dryer apart to replace the drum seal and while cleaning everything thoroughly, noticed burnt wire on heating element.
