How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6783993 / W11259786 Track, Assembly (Rh)

I called a repairman who told me (after three weeks of waiting) that he could not get the parts - they were no longer available!!! After he left I went online and ordered the parts (within five minutes) which came in about a week. they are now installed and my dishwasher is back to washing a full load!!!!!!!! 

I ordered replacement roller tracks which arrived quickly; original equipment in original packaging. I studied the YouTube videos which were detailed and helpful. The only hard part of the repair was rolling the dishwasher out from the cabinetry to gain access to the sides. My dishwasher was screwed to the cabinet sides, not the top as shown in the video. In my case, the water supply line was soft copper and had to be disconnected. Problem was that my shutoff valve would not shut off so I had to bring in a plumber to replace it. The plumber also gave me a flexible stainless steel water line to replace the copper which means I can roll the DW out more easily next time without disconnecting anything (my electrical and drain connections have enough slack). Actually replacing the roller tracks was simple. 

Part arrived the next day with standard shipping! Replaced one rack track that had lost bearings. Your chat people offered very good advice. Needed help to pull the dishwasher out of the enclosure in order to remove hex screws (& replace). Run it to check for leaks. 

Searching for my dishwasher parts was easy on the website. Once I found the parts needed there was a video showing me exactly how to replace the pieces on the sides of the upper rack. Ordered parts for next day delivery and BOOM, they arrived on time. Replaced all parts within just a few minutes. The video made all of the difference. Showed me the clips that needed to be removed. Without video, I am sure I would have broken something trying to fix something. Thanks guys for making my repair go smoothly. 

Fixed it. 

The part I ordered was a direct OEM replacement of the original rack's right hand track. The part arrived in less than 72 hours (despite me selecting standard shipping) and I was able to swap the part out in less than 30 minutes. Only hiccup was when I slid the dishwasher out to access the screws and the drain line disconnected, totally my own fault, and I didn't notice until I had ran the dishwasher for a few minutes. 

I replaced both rack slide tracks. Repair took about 3 hours because dishwasher was a tight fit. It was still worth it because this is the best most quiet dishwasher I have ever owned. Maytag mdb8959sbs2 

Straightforward repair. Purchased replacement slides. After removing the under-counter screws, the lower panel to access the leveling feet, and turning the leveling feet back a bit, I pulled the dishwasher out about halfway. Pull back the insulation to access the two screws on either side that secure each slide. Remove and replace slides then return dishwasher to its under the counter home. Took about 20 minutes or so. Other reviews indicated a 1/4” nut driver for the four screws. Mine wasn’t 1/4”. I think I used 8mm. 

Replaced with new slides, they fit perfect. Be careful when removing old slides as the plastic clips are brittle from years of washing. 

Slid the dishwasher out about halfway, removed four screws to remove the broken slide. Put the new slide in using the same four screws.
