Daniel for Model Number KUDS24SEWH1

I have a question. The answer may be obvious to some but I want to be certain before I order. I bent the upper right chrome piece that has wheels and a stop on it. The piece is twisted and and has a crease. Does your upper right rail/guide have that chrome piece included in it? Should I save the wheels and stops from the old piece? The item you show has openings or holes all along the sides. Mine doesn't. Is that a problem I'm figuring I'll go ahead and order it anyway What else do I need to know? Thanks in advance

Pam for Model Number Kitchinaide KUDE60FXSS3

I have three baskets 10 silverware tray; 20 middle basket for cups and bowls and the bottom rack for plates etc. when I went to draw out the cup or middle basket I caught something fly out and discovered three ball bearings in the bottom of the dishwasher. Now one side of the middle will not draw out completely and I cannot get the whole basket to come out so I see What is going on. I am afraid that if I force the rack I will ruin the dishwasher. Can you tell me how to get the basket out so I can work on it or the rails whichever is broken. Thank you for any advise you may provide.

Pam, this is going to be a failure in the track. The bearings from the track have come loose and fallen out. Oftentimes, when the track is hard to pull forward it is due to the bearings not aligning properly. If there is not enough room to get to the front lock tab of the adjuster where it sets into the rail, the entire rail can be removed by pulling the dishwasher out and unscrewing the rail mounting screws on the outside wall.

Randy, The screws will be on the outside of the tub and the unit would have to be pulled out to remove the rails.

Hello Angela, right/left are referenced standing in front of the dishwasher looking at it, your right hand is the dishwasher's right side.

I have found the fasteners attaching the upper rack assembly to the sidewall of the dishwasher have come loose over time, 4 locations each side, and allow water to leak out. It does not appear these were sealed at the factory. I am planning on sealing these locations with a acrylic caulk to stop future leaks after I tighten the screws. Do you see any problem with this? Do you have a sealant you can recommend? Should I seal on the inside of the dishwasher under the brackets or under the fastener head washers on the outside of the dishwasher?

1 Answer

Scott, Once the screws are tight just use a silicone around the screw head. It would not be recommended to use acrylic.
