I unplugged the stove.
Since I had to pull the stove away from the wall to unplug it, I also cleaned the sides and floor underneath, eww!
I unscrewed two screws at the back wall of the oven and pulled the old bake element out from the back wall. Two wires are connected with wire connectors. I pulled them off and removed the old element. I attached (plugged) the wires on to the new element one on each side and pushed the wires and element ends through the holes in the insulation in the back wall of the oven. I screwed in the screws. I plugged the appliance back in to the outlet and slid the stove back in place. I turned the oven on to ensure the oven worked. Set the temperature and waited to see if the pre-heat light went off. It did, so I think I'm good to start cooking! What to bake, hmm, bunt cake sounds good with lime to celebrate St. Patrick's day!
