How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019618 / WPW10327249 Water Inlet Valve

Tapped on the top of the solenoid on the inlet water valve and the valve opened allowing water to fill the washer. Ordered a replacement valve.

The issue was either a float valve problem or water inlet problem. Upon visual inspection the float valve seems ok. So, I purchased the water inlet valve. It arrived in 2 days for reasonable shipping. I installed it and now it runs fine. 

I removed the old one and replaced it with a New Water Inlet Valve. Worked like a charm and it was a very easy replacement. 

Apparently my dishwasher was not getting enough water in all of its cycles, but the last cycle was dry, and the wash cycles were noisy. I read numerous message boards, with the consensus being I needed a new water inlet valve. Before I junked this 9yo money sink of a dishwasher, I decided to take a chance and buy an inlet valve. I ordered the part and it was delivered the next day!!!! I just selected "standard shipping", not overnight or 2-day. AppliancePartsPros.com is the best! Thanks for the great service. Oh yeah, it fixed the problem. 

Replaced the water inlet valve. 

Removed the water inlet valve and installed the new one. Easy fix. 

Replaced the water inlet valve. The ordered part arrived in only a few days. First I watched the excellent instructional video for this part provided by AAP, then followed the instructions and replaced the part. It was very fast and easy. 

Ordered the new part from this site, opened up the panel at the bottom, took out the old part, and put in the identical new part. All on my side on the floor. Not an easy or enjoyable task, but it went well. Took less time than locating a service professional. The new part was identical. 

First was diagnosis, second was looking up the part and having it shipped, third step was shutting off water supply and removing the dishwasher from it's cabinet space by unscrewing the tabs under the countertop, 4th step is to unscrew the supply hose from the inlet valve. 5th step is removing one screw that holds the inlet valve to the DW frame and unplug the electrical pin connector. 6th step is to remove hose connection from the inlet valve. 7th step is replace everything in the order it was removed. Slide the machine back in , reconnect the water supply line, turn the water on to check for leaks, screw the tabs in place under the countertop. Very simple repair!
