How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4929086 / W10364988 Water Inlet Valve Assembly

Replaced the water inlet valve assembly 

I bought this part and the replacement was very quick and easy. The only tricky bits were fussing with the retaining clips holding the top of the washer down. Switching out the wiring harness was easy. I wish there were some instructions on which way to connect the wires to the solenoids though as it wasn't clear which side of the wire connector was up. The wire connectors were different than what was on my old intake valve. My washer is nice and quiet again and the install was very simple with youtube videos. 

Replaced the valves. Also cleaned many things around. It took me two hours, but I was in no hurry and did many other side tasks. Est. 30 min for direct task. Take a cell-phone pix of everything first for comparison to make sure all the connexions are correct. 

Ordered new valve assembly. It was easy to replace. The wiring harness that came with it really made it easy to install the new valve assembly. 

Un hooked everything pertaining to the inlet valve , n replaced with the valve I bought from you all . 

Now it is working with the replacement part. The problem is that I think the original part in my washing machine is a defective part. I dont think I should have to replace the part since this is not likely to crack where it was joint together. 

After watching the video that you provided, I decided to do the repair myself. I ordered the part and it was delivered in 2 days. The repair went exactly as was shown in the video, and was successful. The video was immensely helpful. 

I replaced Water Inlet Valve and the control module. 

I chatted online with one of AppliancePartsPros.com. They were able to identify the part, (an inlet water mixer) and sent it to my cart online. I ordered it and it arrived in just a few days. When it arrived I went to a video of step by step directions for removing the old part and installing the new. The AP Pros guy was great at explaining and demonstrating what to do. We had the new part installed in less than an hour and it was a breeze!! Ran a load and I have a cold, warm, or hot water again!! Thanks Appliance Part Pros!!
