How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006209 / WP22001274 Washer Water Inlet Valve

First I binged for how to repair water leaking into the tub of a Maytag washing machine. I watched a number of the videos that came up. The videos by Appliance Parts were the best in showing how to fix my problem. This gave me the confidence I needed to try to do the repair myself. Impressed by the videos I debated whether to buy the water valve locally or from AP. Because of the quality of their videos I decided to go with AP. Additionally, APs price was $10 cheaper, after regular shipping charges, and saved me a 25 mile round trip. I ordered the part around 4 pm. Amazingly the part arrived at my doorstep at noon the next day. The repair was exactly as described in the videos and was complete in short order.

Replaced water solenoid valve

Being an 85 year old woman , I really did not wish to replace my washer, so my first choice was to try and fix my problem. with guesswork and your video, I figured to take a gamble and see if this was the problem. It was and I was able to fix machine YEAH 

Replaced the water inlet valve. 

Water continued to drip into the tub even w/the washer shut off. A new water fill valve did the trick. Matched w my model number the part was easy to order & was delivered promptly. 

I changed the Water Valve out. Now it just takes a few minutes to fill the tub. Before, it would take almost a half hour to fill. 

We replaced the solenoid valve. 

Replaced water control valve. It was an easy fix after watching YouTube video. Found that iron sediment over the years had blocked the incoming water. Now works like new.
