How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006209 / WP22001274 Washer Water Inlet Valve

PULLED OLD WATER INLET VALVE OUT ABOUT TEN MIN. INSTALLED NEW UNIT WORKS AS IT SHOULD 

REPLACED THE WATER VALVE AND THE WATER LEVEL PRESSURE SWITCH HOSE TOOK APPRX; 35 MINUTES. 

I diagnosed the problem as being a faulty water inlet valve. After some research. I found AppliancePartsPros.com and found the part for my old Maytag washer. There was some initial confusion the site said the part was a Whirlpool item. Then, I discovered that Whirlpool owns Maytag. I order the part, watched the istalment video, and successfully installed the part with little fuss. Worked perfectly. 

Replaced water valve 

It is an older Maytag over under washer/dryer and is 20+ years old but is a tank! I checked online with Appliance PartsPro.Com on these types of problems. It was the water valve where the hot and cold come onto the back of the unit. I ordered the part and it was the right part, fit perfectly and I installed it in 15 minutes. It was a simple fix and I know I saved $$$ not paying for a repairman a service call and parts mark up, not to mention having to take off work to wait for them to come! DIY is the way to go if you are even remotely handy. 

Put in an input valve. 

Ordered the part, I received the next day and changed it in 15 min. works fine now. 

Replaced it with a valve from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Replaced water control valve. 

I pulled the old valve and replaced it with the new one.
