How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014364 / WP99001359 Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve

I order the inlet valve which I'm not sure I needed. I say that because the fitting going to it was galvanced & it rusted shut. The actual hose had big chunks of rust in it which I had to dig out with a welding rod.The new valve had the elictrical connectios in a different place so I just compared& plugged it in going by that.One tip for all out there make sure door is closed when turning on. I didn't & I though that I accomplition nothing. I was wrong. I haven't put the covers back on because I figure I'm going to replace the hose which I'm going to say needs replacing. If it wasn't so tight space & I didn't have the rust problem along with me not being in better shape. It would have took me 15 minutes to change. It was about a hour. It gets the dishes clean now. I can hear & see the water in dish washer now. 

I went on live chat, told the rep. my problem. He said I needed a Water Inlet Valve so I ordered the valve. I received my part within 3 days replaced it myself and we are back to working fine. 

Replaced the water inlet valve. 

Ordered the new part from your company and installed it myself 

Turned off power. Turned off water valve. Removed kick plate and lower cover to expose water inlet valve. Disconnected the two wires, removed water supply line from old valve. Removed two screws that hold valve to dishwasher frame. Pulled the valve forward to allow access to pinch clamp that secures water inlet hose from backside. Using pliers, squeezed clamp and removed hose. Note: The water supply connector must be removed from the bottom of the old valve and reinstalled on the new one. Make sure you note the position on the old valve and install it facing the same way on the replacement. Reinstalled the new valve by connecting the rubber inlet hose, clamp, and water supply. Attached valve to frame and wires to valve. Turned on water, checked for leaks. Restored power and check operation. Reinstalled kick plate and lower cover. 

Replaced the valve. 

Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve fixed the problem. 

Replaced inlet valve 

Replaced the water inlet valve. Had a problem getting the elbow off the old water valve since it was 26 years old. Soaked the old part in white vinegar and it loosened it. 

The dishwasher would fill with water on the first cycle but not on any of the rest of the cycles. I expected it was a control logic board, but I was surprised that replacing the Water Inlet valve fixed the problem.
