Justin, based on the information provided, if there is not an error flash on the main control WD21X24899 or a broken wire then the control will have failed.

Hello Megale, If you have removed the screen and this affected the water fill you should check the water pressure to the dishwasher. It sounds like you have a low water pressure situation causing this issue. The screens should never be removed from the water valve since this can allow debris from the water supply to corrupt the valve seal and create the possibility of an overfill which could potentially cause water damage to the home. You should increase the water pressure to the unit and change the water valve to correct the issue.

Andy, You should not be able to blow through the inlet valve even with everything disconnected. There is a plunger inside that will keep anything from passing through.

We were going to replace our old Maytag for a newer dishwasher and it stayed outside for about a month. Changed our mind on the new one, and decided to keep it and set it up, but now it leaks from the front. It ran fine before, but now, when t's running, it's leaking from the stem of the float onto the water level actuator through the stem that's inside the water tub. I called your team and was told it's the water inlet valve, so I ordered it but since I'm not having any issues with water not coming in, I'm thinking it might be something else causing the leak. Please advise...

Steve, The water valve is capable of up to 120 PSI on it but that is stretching the limits of the valve.

Hello Stacy. No, the water level should be next to the bottom of the heating element, not the top.

Andrew for Model Number GSD900D-03

Dishwasher was installed by previous owner incorrectly. Drain hose was going through floor and dishwasher would not be able to retain water to run a full cycle. The water line was not installed correctly either. They didn't use the regular hose to run water to dishwasher, but instead ran copper piping to water inlet valve. They disconnected the water inlet valve from the dishwasher in order to do this. I was able to correct the drainage issue by extending the drain hose and having it wrap around dishwasher to keep water from draining out prematurely, however the hose kinked up and water was not draining. When I pulled the dishwasher out to check for the kink, the wires to the water inlet valve disconnected. I was not aware that the wires disconnected and ran the dishwasher to watch to see if I could find the kink. The wires touched and sparked and now the water inlet valve will not work. Is there anything I can do to get it to work again, or should I start looking for a new dishwasher?

Hello Andrew, This could have burned the contacts in the timer WD21X613. I would also check the connections in the power connection box behind the kickpanel. One of the wire nuts could have lost connection.

D/W about 3 yrs old But just installed 2/2015. Water was not entering machine. I have power to water valve and ohms within range. So I removed to see if screen was clogged. No. So i removed the screen (appeared to have a suction on it during removal) inside to me appears to be a restrictor. Piece had a round base with a tube and rubber flat washer/valve. Tube was facing water inlet side. To me it looked backward b/c base had grooves in the side that rubber washer would close from water pressure. I flipped this part around and re-install. Now water does enter into the system. My concern is if water entering to fast b/c i seen a little wet spot by inlet funnel on the side of D/W. So I don't know if you can answer this question unless you have an old part to look into it. Do you know which way this restrictor valve should face? the Tube facing the inlet side or toward the interior of the valve? I am ready to pull and put it back the way it was to see if it works now. But i would like to know the answer - could the valve been improperly assembled.

Rich22, The way that the part was in place previously would be the correct way for it to be installed. You will want to reverse it and if it is not putting water into the unit then the valve is sticking and would be faulty.
