How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023768 / WPW10683603 Water Inlet Valve

Replaced the water inlet valve. 

We ordered the Fill Valve. The part got here the next day without paying extra. We started washing that evening. I had no idea what was wrong with the washer. But with minimal research, I was off and running. Oh ....no special tool is required. 

Ordered new valve assembly and replaced it. 

Simple process. I'm not a DIY'er. But, after reading some reviews and checking out a few YouTube clips, I thought I'd give it a go. Could not have been easier and the task was accomplished in less than 15 minutes. Matched up the brand & serial number on the washing machine to the water inlet valve required. Ordered the part and it was received within 2 days. The replacement was a breeze. Removed the 5 set screws along the back of the washing machine with a socket screwdriver, unattached the wiring mechanism with pliers, loosened to more screws with socket screwdriver, and lifted the damaged water inlet valve out. In reverse order, reinstalled the new valve, hooked the water lines back up, plugged it in and ran a successful test cycle. 

I bought a washer from Craigslist from someone who lived in the mountains. He loaded it in his truck the night before delivering it to me. When I got it the next day it wouldn’t fill. I replaced the water valve and it fixed the problem. Not sure if it broke from the pressure change from coming down 2000 foot in elevation or if it was from the freezing weather. 

Had to take off the back panel, where the water valves were. Then opened the front panel to get to the Circuit Board. Pretty easy fix. Unplug the connecter from the circuit and plug the new one in. Took less than 30 minutes. Take your time. 

Replaced the old valve with the replacement. Was fairly easy after I figured how to detach the faulty valve. Had to remove the control panel and top back shield to have access to the screws securing the unit. This took the most time. The new valve resolved the leaking problem. 

Replaced valve and hoses. 

Super EX. Found the part that I needed and thought was causing my problem. Watched the How to change video online, Asked a question of the online tech to help confirm my suspicions then ordered the part. Bam! done and working just fine.
