Monica J Siloam Springs , AR March 13, 2022 My 17 year old dryer suddenly began rumbling After looking up trouble shooting videos online, I determined it must be the blower wheel. There was no squeak and the heat was still working. After watching a video I saw that taking apart the dryer was very simple. There was a ton of lint and fuzz all over, but I found the Blower Wheel looked good. However the Exhaust tube seal had rotted over time as well as the foam seal. ( I had already replaced the hose at the back of the dryer that had some holes.) When I put it back together it still rattled. Took it apart again and decided to remove the drum this time to see if there was something else behind the drum that caused the noise. I removed the large metal ring at the back of the drum and it was also full of fuzz. The drum bearing collar looked good so I re-greased the bearing with white lithium grease and put it all back together. It worked! Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
