The spring its self is an easy fix. Two screws to get the top off, then use some strong cord to help install the new spring (I used shoelace). On my LG there was a hose coming from the drain system up to a sensor in the back left-top of the cabinet that had pulled free when the drum dropped. Needed to remove the rear panel to find and fix that. Could probably fix it from the top if you knew exactly what to look for. My repair was further complicated because my washer and dryer are stacked. Most of my repair time was spent finding the leak from the hose that just needed to be put back in place unstacking and then restacking my dryer.
