I have rebuilt a few dryers over the years so if you are going to replace any parts having to do with turning the drum you might as well replace the following with them. Belt, tension pulley or complete bracket with pulley, and what every supports the drum as it turns. On mine it was 2 plastic pads backed up with cork for the front support, and 2 rollers on the back. I also replaced the felt that seals the front and rear of the drum as it turns against parts that don't turn. Mine had torn from the drum leaning downward after the original support slides had failed, and put additional weight on the felt from misalignment. Also, I will see if the motor can be rotated in it's supports 1/4 to 1/2 turn so the a NEW side of the bushings that support the shaft in the motor are exposed to the sideways load from the belt. This will help the motor to last longer. Of course you need to make sure all the wires are OK with the rotating the motor.
