I took off the front cover of the washer and observed what was happening. I could tell at that point the buzzing sound was coming from the motor. I unplugged the machine, was able to pull on the belts to rotate the motor, I could plug the machine back in and it would run for a bit. I observed the motor shaft moving up and down in the housing and knew the lower bearing had probably failed. Ordered the new motor, and the belts right away and replaced them. The machine runs smoothly as ever now. Just a note, the pulley set screw on the motor shaft was really tight, it would not break loose with hand tools, had to use my impact driver with an Allen bit to get it loose.
