This is a GE water inlet valve designed for certain refrigerator ice makers. The water inlet valve is responsible for allowing water from the inlet line into the icemaker, but also for preventing water from flowing when ice is not needed. Over time and through normal use, the valve will suffer from wear and tear and will eventually need to be replaced. When the valve fails, the water line will need to be turned off to prevent further leaks. A replacement will be necessary before the icemaker can be used again. Replacing the water inlet valve will require locating the old one within the icemaker, detaching the water lines, and uninstalling the valve assembly from the appliance. This genuine OEM part is sold individually. It is compatible with several different GE refrigerator models.
This part is discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available for purchase.
