One day my wife went to bake something and the bake/broil buttons as well as #3, #9, and oven light ceased to work. Local repair guy came by and wanted to charge $500 to fix it....YEAH RIGHT! Did a little homework and found this website, spoke with knowledgable staff who pointed me in the right direction. Took me all of about 20 minutes to install new control panel..everything works perfect...THANKS!
p.s. In doing my research come to find Maytag did little to insulate control panel from oven...

I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. I replaced the heating element and all of the thermal/high cutoff fuses and thermistors even though only the heating element tested "open" (there was a crack in the element) just to be safe. Also for the "jet airplane" sound the fan housing bearing was bad. I replaced that a well. Now it works like it should and is quiet again!
