Rear panel pad cushions and insulates the appliance's rear cabinet to reduce vibration, noise and rubbing against the back panel. Replacing a damaged pad helps stop rattles and protects internal components from wear. What it does:

Provides rear-cabinet cushioning and thermal/abrasion protection for the back panel.
Dampens vibration and reduces operational noise.
Prevents direct metal-to-metal contact that can cause rubbing or wear.
Common symptom fix: reduces rattling or vibrating noises from the appliance rear.

What's included: One rear panel pad. Install notes:

Always disconnect power (and gas, if applicable) before starting any repair.
Remove the rear access panel to access the pad; replace using the original mounting points, adhesive or clips.
Inspect surrounding insulation and mounting hardware; replace any damaged fasteners.

I ordered a door/lid switch kit and an actuator and replaced them both. I probably didn't need the actuator, but it probably didn't hurt to replace it. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more
