Ice maker stopped making ice Michael S. • Appleton , WI • June 23, 2020
On your chat box with Kelsey, I decided it was probably the valve and so ordered a water valve. It came next day! Before trying to install it, I wanted to confirm whether it was the valve or the icemaker, so I chatted again with Kelsey who gave me a useful test (manually pour water into the icemaker) that confirmed the icemaker was functional. So I thought it surely is the valve, so I removed the old valve according to the very helpful video on your website. When I opened the box with the new...

Ice maker stopped making ice. Steve C. • Dripping Springs , TX • September 30, 2019
Well, I got online and found several YouTube videos on how to check what was happening. I have a multimeter and tools. I first replaced the external water filter just to make sure it wasn't that, and it needed it. That wasn't the problem. I then removed the water inlet valve which was really easy. I didn't disconnect the water lines but I did unplug the power plug. Using the ohms setting on the meter, I tested the coil of the valve solenoid. It wasn't open. I checked the voltage at the plug...

My refrigerator items were freezing Mayilet F. • Hialeah , FL • February 24, 2020
I ordered a freezer temperature control. I ordered from you because parts are certified. Last thing I wanted was to go through the replacement process with a part that didn’t work. I’m not a handy person by nature, and I have zero common sense. I watched the awesome instructional video that you provided with my order several times. Before receiving or even opening the package, I felt that I knew what to expect because I watched the video so many times. Before beginning, I made sure I had as...

Broken slide connections on shelf support replaced shelf support "cover" front and rear cover supports. Scott R. • Deephaven , MN • April 04, 2023
If you can't pull out the displacement pins on the crisper cover support clips that allow the wall to carry the weight of the cover, slides and drawer, you may need to push those pins in (they fall down the wall) to remove the clip. During the replacement of both front clips, I had one I could remove and one I had attempted to drill a tiny hole in to be able to pull the pin. Ultimately it did not work and needed to be simply pushed in. Do not worry, there is nothing below which the plastic...

My Frigidaire frost free commercial freezer was screeching louder than the wheels on my radio flyer red wagon when it was overloaded with 5 cent return for deposit coca cola bottles back in the 1960's Daniel G. • El Paso , TX • January 24, 2021
In short - I replaced the evaporator fan motor and the evaporator fan blade.
The Appliance Parts Pros website was extremely helpful to me. Here's how.
1. The site helped me identify that even though my Freezer says it's a Frigidaire, it's actually an Electrolux.
2. The site identified the potential screech causing parts. (I didn't take a chance, I bought all three) It was a worthwhile investment. My freezer is 20 years old so it deserved some help.
3. The site provided guidance videos (not...

The bottom heating element wasn't working in top oven Kevin Scott W. • Parker , CO • January 09, 2015
Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. It would have been except the bottom element my wife used to replace the old element (which was fine but had been thrown out figuring the new one was new so why keep the old one) was 1" shorter in the back than the old...

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
1: loud noise on freezer side. 2: no water dispensing Matt M. • Pickett , WI • February 05, 2021
1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. One of the signs of this issue was a distinct change in sound when I opened the freezer door. I ordered a new motor and blade, not knowing exactly what it was.
2. I couldn't get water to dispense, so I changed the filter and that wasn't the problem. I ordered a water valve and crossed my fingers. These parts arrived...

Ice maker door not sealing causing frost buildup and leaking Richard B. • Shoreline , WA • October 11, 2016
I wasn't sure if it was the door being warped, the spring return being worn, or the rotary damper failing, so I ordered all to update the door mechanism. I also ordered a new micro switch since one of the switches had started to require more and more pressure to actuate. Figured I'd fix it at the same time.
Repair was very straightforward and the videos available on this and other repair sites were very helpful. I found a video that showed replacing the door mechanism on a nearly identical...
