My 10 year old frig door was hanging down to the point it wasnt fully closing and sealing unless you picked up on it. I ordered a lower hinge bracket, upper and lower bearing, and spacer. My bracket was bent down a little due to my kids hanging on the door when looking at the bottom shelf and i discovered my bracket was held on by only two bolts when there was supposed to be three. Replaced start relay and capacitor. Good news, repair successful. Bad news, parts supplied are not direct fit plug and play on my Frigidaire model. Supplied parts are larger than the original. Wire retaining clip needs to be modified to hold relay in position against compressor. Original Molex connector did not connect to the supplied relay. Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. I replaced the valve that turns the water flow on/off to the door and to the ice maker. It was allowing water to seep internally past it's seals. Replacing the valve solved both problems. Simple job, no more than 10 minutes start to finish.. Read more
