Top dishes not getting clean/gunk on dishes in top basket Ed P. • Rexburg , ID • August 01, 2015
Ordered a new tube so the flapper valves would be clean and close properly. The old flapper valves had buildup on them and would not divert the water to the upper spinner. The cups would get a soap/food scrap residue that hadn't been cleaned off. Wish I didn't have to buy the entire tube and could just get the flapper valves/assembly separately as the tube was fine, just needed the diverter/flapper valves, but price was pretty good and it arrived in a moderately decent time. Snapped right...

Machine running loud grew worse until it was obvious the motor blew a bearing Robert S. • Bettendorf , IA • February 21, 2015
We initially noticed the dishwasher running loud and failing to completely clean dishes. Research suggested issues like this were normally caused by either the main circulation motor or the drain motor. Over the next week the noise worsened, and it became obvious that the circulation motor had went (loud whirring noise whenever the spin cycle kicked in).
I watched a couple youtube videos on the removal and dissassembly until I felt confident that my wife and I could handle the project. For the...

- Unusual noises from the pump during operation
- Visible cracks or damage to the volute or seal
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Water leaking from the area proximate to the motor Nathan S. • Salt Lake City , UT • January 19, 2015
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only...

Horrible door squeak needed kick plate too Linda L. • Paso Robles , CA • February 23, 2019
Kick plate was easy; screw holes in the wrong place, but used double-sided tape instead and worked great. Didn't need the extra screws ordered; it came with them.
The roller spindles should be sent with a packet of grease. When replaced, the door was even louder than previous. Used candle wax on the spindles and it's quiet as can be now.

A small replacement door switch that tells the appliance when the door is closed so cycles can start—restores proper door-sensing to resolve no-start, intermittent operation, or control lockout issues related to a faulty door switch. What it does:
- Detects door open/closed state and completes the control circuit when the door is shut.
- Prevents the appliance from starting or running when the door is open.
- Commonly replaces a worn or broken switch that causes no-starts, stops mid-cycle, or intermittent operation.
- Works as the door-sensing safety/switching component in the door latch/closure assembly.
What's included: One miniature door switch. Install notes:
- Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) before inspecting or replacing the switch.
- Match connector terminals and orientation to the original switch; secure wiring and terminals firmly.

The Filter Screen is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool dishwashers. Located inside the sump area, the durable mesh screen captures small food particles and debris before wash water is recirculated through cycles.
Symptoms of a bad filter screen can include clogging obscuring openings over time, degrading mesh no longer inhibiting passage, or dislodging from mounting points allowing bypass.
Causes involve the normal accumulation of soils requiring periodic cleaning. Mineral buildup may eventually cement sections together reducing effectiveness.
Symptoms of a bad filter screen include:
- Dirty or soiled wash water unable to fully circulate
- Filth dispersing throughout the wash cabinet interior
- Reduced cleaning and unsatisfactory dish results
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, and some Kenmore dishwasher models. Replace to maintain built-in wastewater filtration protecting major components.
