This lower oven thermostat regulates oven temperature for accurate baking and roasting. Replaces a failed temperature-sensing thermostat to restore consistent oven heat and reliable cooking results. What it does:
- Senses oven cavity temperature and signals the control to cycle the heating element
- Stops oven overheating or underheating when the thermostat is functioning correctly
- Commonly replaced for inconsistent temperatures, oven running too hot/too cold, or no temperature control
- Works as the lower-oven temperature regulator in ranges with separate upper/lower oven controls
What's included: One lower oven thermostat Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before beginning any service
- Handle the sensing bulb and capillary tube carefully; do not kink or sharply bend
- Verify oven is fully cooled and remove oven racks for access before installation

Oven would not heat. Thomas H. • Lafayette , LA • November 06, 2017
I tested the temperature sensor with my multimeter and found it reading 2000 ohms instead of 1000. I ordered the part, installed it and saved lots of money. I was considering buying a new oven but thought I would give it a shot and with all the information available it was easy.
