Kennmore elite microwave with f5 error code Julius D. • Oxford , PA • February 11, 2017
When Microwaving food, the display panel would seem to act normal, but the typical microwave sound would be absent. No microwave action would occur. Eventually an F5 code would display. Problem was the upper door switch. Found it by opening up the cabinet, removing the display panel (1 screw and a couple of plugs) and testing all three micro switched with a meter. Two switches are for the door and one for some kind of ventilation flap. They are all in the same area. Go to YouTube to see...

This cooling fan motor spins the internal fan that moves air through the appliance to dissipate heat and protect sensitive components. Replacing a noisy, weak, or seized motor restores proper airflow and dependable operation.
- Drives the cooling fan to circulate cooling air within the cabinet
- Helps prevent overheating and thermal shutdowns of internal parts
- Restores airflow when the original motor is worn, noisy, or not turning
- Typical signs include no fan movement, unusual humming/squealing, reduced airflow, or the unit shutting off from heat
What's included: 1 cooling fan motor Install notes:
- Disconnect power (and gas, if applicable) before servicing; allow the appliance to cool completely
- Access the motor by removing the appropriate rear/top or control-panel cover for your model
- Note wire orientation; transfer the fan blade and any mounting parts from the original motor if required
- After installation, ensure the fan spins freely and verify proper airflow and quiet operation

This turntable shaft (MH-8) connects the microwave's turntable motor to the glass tray hub so the tray spins for even heating. Replace it when the tray won't rotate, slips intermittently, or makes grinding/clicking noises.
- Couples the turntable motor to the tray hub to drive rotation
- Helps ensure even cooking and defrosting by keeping the tray moving
- Typical symptoms: tray not turning, intermittent/jerky rotation, grinding or clicking from the cavity floor
- Damage indicators: cracks, melted/rounded drive surfaces, or excessive wobble
What's included: 1 turntable shaft (MH-8) Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the microwave at the plug or breaker before servicing
- Remove the glass tray and roller ring to access the shaft
- Lift the old shaft straight up; if stuck, access the turntable motor from below to push it out
- Align and press the new shaft fully onto the motor spindle; reassemble and test rotation

Turntable would not turn Doug R. • West Valley City , UT • December 30, 2018
About 9 screws on bottom and 2 on the turntable. The most trouble I had was putting the bottom back on. Took about 15-20 min. Easy fix

This thermostat is a temperature-sensitive safety switch used in LG microwaves. It monitors internal temperature and opens the circuit when overheating is detected to help protect components from heat damage.
- Monitors temperature at its mounting location inside the microwave
- Opens on overtemperature to interrupt power for safety
- Depending on model/location, a failed or open thermostat can cause no heat, the unit shutting off mid-cycle, or no power until it cools
- Helps prevent damage to the magnetron, cavity, and wiring due to overheating
What's included: 1 thermostat Install notes:
- Unplug the microwave before service; the high-voltage capacitor can retain a dangerous charge
- Note wire positions, remove mounting screws, and install the new thermostat flat against the surface for proper heat sensing
- Reassemble and test; ensure vents and filters are clear to maintain proper airflow and prevent future overheating

This is a motor start/run capacitor that helps the appliance's motor start and run smoothly by supplying a brief boost of electrical energy. Replacing a failing capacitor restores reliable motor startup and operation. What it does:
- Provides the brief electrical surge needed to start and keep the motor running
- Commonly linked to motors that hum, fail to start, or run intermittently
- Helps prevent overheating from repeated start attempts when functioning properly
- Works with the appliance's start circuitry to ensure consistent performance
What's included: One capacitor as shown on the product page Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before accessing electrical components
- Discharge the capacitor and use insulated tools
- Observe polarity/terminal layout and secure connections to factory specifications
- Dispose of the old capacitor according to local electronic-waste regulations

The Door Latch Hook is an OEM replacement part for LG microwaves. Located internally on the door frame, this metal hook secures firmly into the microwave's door latch bracket when closed. As a common wear point, the hook can experience minor warping over many years of use.
Causes of a bad door latch hook include normal wear and tear, loss of tension, or deformation from frequent door opening and closing cycles long-term.
Symptoms of a bad latch hook include:
- Door that does not close fully or completely latch in place
- Gaps forming in the door seal when shut
- Inability to achieve a tight, solid seal around the perimeter
- Latch hook failing to grasp the bracket securely
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore microwaves.

Glass fell out of its retainers and plastic clips holding the frame assembly to the door broke off Steve C. • Caledonia , WI • September 23, 2015
Careful placement of new screws into the inside of the outer door that now hold the frame assembly to the door secured the frame assembly to the outer door. All of the other parts I bought and replaced were a waste of money. I figured since I had them I might as well install them anyways. Easier than sending them back since I had the whole thing apart anyways. The part I really needed was no longer available, the outside door. The glass reinstalled into the retainers in the door without a...
