1 Answer Hello Richard, This is almost always a ducting issue. Think of it this way, on the automatic cycles, the moisture sensors are looking for moisture. If there is a ducting issue, the same moisture is recirculated over and over. This prevents the sensors from ever running without sensing the moisture. During the automatic cycle, when the sensors see no moisture is the only time the timer motor is provided with power to advance. A few things to check are the duct behind the unit for a crimp, the outside hood where the air is exhausted, and if flexible is used through the entire length, a low part of the duct will fill with water, blocking the air flow. Don K January 25, 2013 for Model Number WTA3510US My 10 yr old WTA 3510 does not give off heat so I purchased a new heater element from APP and installed it. Problem still exists. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Don, You will want to check continuity of the high limit thermostat. If no continuity then try to reset it and see if you have continuity. If it will not reset or if it trips again then you will need to replace the thermostat 00170857. Read More...

Diane January 29, 2012 for Model Number WTMC3300us/01 Will this keep the dryer from heating up at all and how do I test this part to see if it is bad?
1 Answer Hi Diane. Use a ohm meter to make sure all thermostats are closed and not open. The heater assy needs to read ohms or shorted. Next to the NTC r-2 is a resettable thermostat w/ a red button in the middle that trips at 347° electric model. If it has tripped a couple of times, you need to clean your entire vent system along w/ the vent cap outside so no moisture gets back into the dryer and clogs the vent. This in turn will cause the heater to expand too hot and open the thermostat part # 00422272. There is another thermostat part # 00422177. Heater assy. part # 00436460. The NTC's are temperature sensors. It comes w/ the heater assy. You will use a ohm/volt meter to test these individual parts part # MA-DM1. Thank You. Read More...
Brian H. June 18, 2011 for Model Number wta3500uc/04 After dryer runs for awhile the lint filter alarm sounds the light flashes and the machine shuts down. It does not seem to be too hot, I have cleaned all of the vents and the inside of the machine. Does the temp regulating sensor control this alarm?
1 Answer Hello Brian. Here is what the manufacture recommends for the code. Hope this helps. Filter LED flashes, filter is clean. NTC R2 or NTC R4 defective. Remove the cable from the power module. Test NTC, cable and plugand- socket connection. NTC R2 is situated above the heater and measures the temperature of the process air blown into the washing. Temperature °C Resistance kW 25 18–22 60 4.5–5.5 NTC R4 is situated in the air current in front of the heater. Resistance values NTC R3 / NTC R4 Temperature °C Resistance kW 25 9–11 60 2.3–2.7 Read More...
