The Temperature Sensor with Hi Limit Thermistor is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This sensor monitors internal temperatures, providing feedback to the control module during each cycle.

Causes of failure can be related to mineral buildup over time interfering with sensing or physical damage to wiring or connectors.

Symptoms of a bad temperature sensor include:

  • Abnormal or inconsistent wash temperatures
  • Error codes related to temperature issues
  • Reduced cleaning performance from improper heating

This genuine OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore models.

For Bosch Temperature Sensor With Hi Limit Thermistor (Part Number: OEM8407104)

John Doe for Model Number SHE44C02UC / 46

All cycle times are longer (Power scrub wash 158, regular wash 146, quick wash 52, rinse 9). Water heater does not appear to be heat water. Diagnostic Procedures (press and hold regular wash / rinse buttons, then press power switch) cycle count down states PO, quick wash light is on solid, rinse light blinks. If continue to press buttons, additional lights come on and off. How can I determine if i need a thermistor, heater or control module?

Darla for Model Number SHU9915UC/U11

So, I ran a test! They said to press the Power Scrub Plus at the same time as the regular wash cycle, press the on switch and then the two lights would flash. From there, press each individual cycle and if the clean button illuminated, then you could correctly assume that it was the temperature sensor? So now my question? Is a thermistor the same thing as a temperature sensor and does part (AP 2802365) fit my model SHU9915UC/U11? This particular BOSCH dishwasher is 12 years old so I do not want to have a hefty service bill if this is something my husband could repair himself? But, I want to make sure that I order the correct part and I need to know if I performed the diagnostic in the correct manner? HELP?

Darla, Yes, the thermistor would be the same as the thermostat. If you are having an issue with heating you will want to make sure that you check the wiring that goes from the thermistor and heating element to the control, right where it goes into the door to make sure that there are no breaks in the wires.

Hello Louis. Make sure the drain pump is working on the unit and if so, and it will not advance, make sure the heater is working. If all is good, then replace the control on the unit.

My Bosch diswasher runs for hours (about 3.75) and the water never gets hot enough so that almost everything is still dripping wet after the load is done. Every three washes, I have to totally clean the entire unit with bleach because it is moldy and slimy everywhere...from the spinning arms right down into the basket and drain. It's very unhealthy. My husband thinks it's the heater unit not getting the water hot enough. But I don't see this part to purchase. Could it be the Thermistor that's bad?

1 Answer

Hello Stephanie, The heater for the unit will be part number 00480317 and can be tested for continuity. You will also want to make sure that the heater is getting power to it from the control board.

Hi Richard. This is only a factory code that mean you need to inturrupt power for 2-3 minutes and then reset it . It should go away then. Thank You.

Hello Chris. Yes, that sounds correct on the thermistor 00165281. The 55k is based on a room temperature of 77°. It sounds like the thermistor is good. Hope this helps.

Rex S. for Model Number SHU5315UC/U12

My dishwasher gives a 2H reading on the LED. Never seems to finish its cycle. I read notes from the QA on the contol module that this is due to a heating issue. I turned my water heater up very high roughly about the same time as I started having this issue. The dishwasher is getting its watersource from the hot water supply (not sure if that is the way it was supposed to be done). Is it possible that turning the water heater down would fix my issue. I know this is probably a stupid question, but the dishwasher appears to work fine in delicate mode, which I think runs at a lower heat. Or, does this appear to be a NTC switch issue. Thank you for all the help
