Tim January 23, 2023 for Model Number GLWS1349AS0 I am trying to replace the lower seals but the agitator will not come all the way out. It only lifts up 3 cm (1.125 inches) and hits a hard stop. It feels like there is a lock of some type stopping it from coming off of the shaft. It moves very easily for that first 3 cm.
1 Answer Tim, Make sure that you remove the bolt from inside the center of the agitator. If the bolt is removed then use a rope and get under the agitator and use leverage to try to remove it. Read More...

Martini January 15, 2019 for Model Number GLWS1349AS1 I purchased this replacement part and I was wondering if the top of the dual agitator should easily move in the counter clockwise direction? When doing so it makes a click sound occasionally. The original agitator (still installed in my machine) is much stronger in resisting CCW movement. I didn't want to spend the time installing it if the new part is defective.
1 Answer Martini, Yes the agitator on this unit should have a counter clockwise rotation that should turn easily. Read More...

Lilwart July 31, 2017 for Model Number 41799872990 Agitator doesn't stay tight , took out and splines are not on the trans shaft they r in the agitator.is this the way its supposed to be? also noticed that inside of hub in agitator has no dogs or angles to match up with the trans shaft. I see that the hub is replaceable on some models, but I cant find one 4 mine. does it come in the agitator?
1 Answer Lilwart, The part that has the splines on it would be the hub and should not stay attached to the agitator. Make sure that the nut that holds the agitator in is tight. Read More...
Katumab1 February 01, 2017 for Model Number 417.94802301 I just had this new agitator put into my washer. However, it makes a loud clicking sound on the agitation cycle only and only when it is a large load. Anyone else experience this problem? Why might this be happening? It is a brand new part, and the repair company keeps telling me its a defect with the part and nothing else. Thanks!
1 Answer Katumab1, You will want to pull the agitator and the inner tub and check the trunnion to make sure that it is not loose as this could be causing the noise with the unit. Read More...
Brett January 26, 2017 for Model Number Frigidaire GLWS1749FS Washer will spin and drain but does not agitate. Does not make any noise except for quite hum during wash cycle but no agitation. I have the 2-part agitator assembly off. How do I know if I need to replace the agitator, the spline or the belts? The top portion of the agitator spins in one direction by hand but not the other direction. The bottom portion spins both directions freely. Inspected the splines, they are fine and like-new. I understand there are no dogs to inspect or replace. Only physical damage I can see is the plastic around the hole where the bolt that holds the agitator goes is tore up a little but can't tell if the splines are connecting to the agitator. I have not checked the belts. What's next? Do I go ahead and replace the entire agitator assembly? Do I need to check the belts?
1 Answer Brett, The lower agitator should not spin freely when the unit is not running. If it is then the issue will be either the spines inside the agitator or a bad transmission. Read More...
