Susie December 23, 2016 I purchased a combo in 2009 and was wondering if the agitator is removable for cleaning and how?
1 Answer Susie, Yes the agitator in your combo unit is removable. " 1. Raise the top , remove the softener dispenser. 2. Using a 1/2" socket, remove the bolt from the center of the agitator shaft and lift the agitator off. " . Thanks, Read More...
Mamawolf October 22, 2016 for Model Number GLWS1339ES0 I replaced the agitator on my washer. I notice the top of the one piece agitatir spins on it's own but when turning the agitator counter clockwise the agitator spins the entire tub but the bottom of the agitator itself stays stationary. As this is my first repair of any kind, I didn't notice if it did this before I did the repair. Is this normal for this washer or did I do something incorrectly?
1 Answer Mamawolf, You did a fine job, and a Great Job !!! Everything you mentioned and posted is correct. The auger portion of the agitator will rotate in one direction, and Lock and not move in the other direction. Yes the inner tub will rotate as well when setting in the "neutral" position, so all is "normal". Great Job !!! Read More...
Cheryl September 02, 2016 My 1996 Frigidaire Crown washer was leaking. I removed the bolt from the agitator but cant get the agitator to come off. Im at my wits end...HELP!!! Its quite rusty so I've used WD 40 hoping that would work...it helped with the bolt not the agitator. Hope you have an answer for me......thank you
1 Answer Cheryl, The only way to get this agitator out would be to get a rope or something under it where you can get good leverage and pop the agitator off. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Stacy, This is normally caused by a slow spin due to either an article of clothing between the tubs, a bad or clogged drain pump or hose, or a slipping belt. The unit will have to be opened to diagnose. Read More...
Teri May 26, 2015 for Model Number 417.97862790 I need to replace my agitator on my stackable washer/dryer combo. This is the original part - as far as I can tell. This is my problem. My current agitator is 2 pc' a lower agitator and upper. I looked online and found a replacement - but the picture does not reflect 2 pcs and it looks to be a 1pc unit. Also, this unit has parts from various machines that were added at the factory. Case in point - the motor listed for this particular model number IS NOT the motor that your service rep found. The motor that goes into my machine is a 134183200 or AP3851446. This is why I am asking about the agitator. Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Teri, the parts you mentioned 134183200 motor, and 131605901 agitator are "substitute" parts that the manufacturer have decided to use for one reason or other. They may appear different than the original part, but they are a direct replacement part unless noted otherwise, and will operate properly in your machine. Read More...
