The Door Boot Seal is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It is a flexible gasket that forms a seal between the washing machine door and the drum, preventing water from leaking during the wash cycle.

Causes of a bad door boot seal can include wear and tear over time, mold or mildew buildup, or physical damage from sharp objects or improper loading of the washer. Exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals can also degrade the seal, leading to leaks.

Symptoms of a bad door boot seal include:

  • Water leaking from the front of the washing machine
  • Visible tears or cracks in the seal
  • Mold or mildew buildup on the seal
  • A musty odor coming from the washing machine

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

For Frigidaire Door Boot Seal (Part Number: OEM11607318)

T B for Model Number fafw3511kwo

I have purchased new boot for washer and , as many have, found putting spring on very challenging. I eventually had some help holding retainer in while installing and finally got it. Everything went great until I tried closing door. The plastic latch would not go into door lock. It seemed to not go in far enough as though the new boot was holding it out. I even tried mounting latch with some sheet metal behind it to increase length. After four pieces of metal it still did not go in far enough to latch. Latch does work when I put in while off door, but not when mounted on door. Any answers?

Hello T. You need to check and make sure the boot is installed properly. If so, either the strike or the door lock is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hello MIK. No, the gaskets have not changed in design. There is drain ports, but it will still hold some water in the gasket.

My Fridgidair Affinity front load washer has been leaking under the door for some time now.It sits on top of the matching storage unit and I have been hanging a wash cloth over its' drawer to keep the clothing inside from getting wet. Some time ago I replaced the small retaining spring on the seal with a similar one from the hardware store.Could this have made enough of a difference to make it leak?I can find no damage on the rubber seal but I do question the up and down play in the door hinge the bottom of the door latch is getting kind of chewed up.I dont want to buy the whole seal if I dont have to.

Hello Papa Rex. The clamp could have damaged the seal. You will need to watch it during a cycle and determine where the leak is coming from. If it is the door boot, then you will need to replace the boot on the unit. Also, make sure the glass on the door is clean and making good contact with the boot so it does not leak on the unit.

Hello Rich. These can be extremely difficult to install on some models. You can try using pliers to help pull the spring, but do not over stretch the spring on the unit.
