Best Seller
Manufacturer Part
4.89 (64)
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM17427918
Manufacturer Part Number: 242115279

This is the refrigerator's electronic main control board. The power PCB coordinates the compressor, fans, and defrost system using sensor inputs—helping restore stable temperatures, proper defrosting, and consistent operation when the original board fails. What it does

  • Routes and regulates power to the compressor and evaporator/condenser fans; failure can cause no-cool or intermittent cooling
  • Interprets thermistor signals to manage run times and temperature targets; faults may lead to erratic temperatures
  • Controls the automatic defrost cycle to prevent frost buildup and restricted airflow
  • Interfaces with other control components; issues can present as clicking from the board, display anomalies, or unresponsive controls
What's included
  • One main power control board
Install notes
  • Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance before servicing
  • Use ESD protection; handle the board by the edges and avoid touching components
  • Access the control behind the external service cover; transfer connectors one at a time and reuse original mounting hardware/enclosure
  • Restore power and allow the refrigerator to stabilize at set temperatures after installation

For Frigidaire Main Power Control Board (Pcb Assembly) (Part Number: OEM17427918)

RC, The SY CE error code means there is a communication issue. This communication problem is caused by either a wiring issue, wire harness issue, faulty control board, or a bad user interface board

Richard for Model Number lgub2642lf3

Our fridge has started to display the SY EF error message. I have taken the panels off to gain access to the evaporator fan and there is no ice build-up, when I run the diagnostic for the fan it turns on and spins for a second then off again, and will repeat this indefinitely, once it did move on from that and start spinning as I would expect but hasn't done it again. I did take the fan out and connected it to a 9v battery and it ran continuously. Is this likely a fan issue or a control board one or something else? Thanks

1 Answer

Richard, the main control 242115279 would need to be tested when the fan is turned on via diagnostics. Using the connection J4A the black probe of a meter would be placed at the wire found on pin 13. The red probe would then be placed at the wire found on pin 5 of the connection J4B to identify if 12VDC is being continually provided to the fan. If it is not, the failure would be in the main control. If it is, the fan would need to be tested for a continuous 12VDC supply at the fan wire connection to identify if the failure is in a wire or in the fan 809069220.

Nian for Model Number Kenmore Refrigerator 25370313211

Hello I have a Kenmore Refrigerator 25370313211 that's not defrosting. I took out the back panel wall in freezer, then press the FF+- on display panel for 6 seconds and force into defrost mode (showing DF). The heater did not turn on (suppose to glow in orange?). The FZ thermistor is showing correct temperature. (0 in freezer), diagnose mode 30 confirmed it. Took the defrost thermostat out, make sure it's cold, the tested continuity, low resistance, seems fine. Unplug the heater cable and plugin multimeter, low resistance, also seem fine. Most of the articles I can find points to control board problem, assuming thermostat and heater fine. There are two boards, one behind display (Part #241973711 ) and one underneath the fridge (Part #242115279). How do I test them regarding defrost? I suppose I should enter manual DF mode again and test voltage between two pins, but can someone point out specifics? For one, I am not 100% sure if thermostat and heater fine. If I can confirm the correct board is defective, that will save me a lot of time. Thanks!

Nian, Based on the information provided if while in forced defrost you should have 102vac to the defrost heater/thermostat. If the voltage is there the board is good, if it is not there the issue is the board.

Augustus, Remove your ice bucket and check again to see if the auger will spin. If it does then there is frozen ice in the bucket. If not then one of the microswitches on the dispenser module has failed and the assembly would need to be replaced. 242074216 This is the part number if one of the switches does not have continuity when the actuator is depressed.

Matt, With there being no power to the unit the most likely cause for this issue will be a faulty main control board.

Clarence, Unfortunately the icemaker would not be able to be removed as it will cause an error code and cause issues with the unit operation. The icemaker should be able to be turned off.

Jeff for Model Number Lgub2642le9

My Frigidaire French door stopped dispensing water and ice production was way down. Tested water valve and seemed ok and was receiving current. Opened up back of freezer cabinet and found a bunch of ice. I let ice thaw and found the defrost thermostat had ruptured and no longer functioning. Heater element had continuity. Replaced thermostat and hopefully fixed that issue. Problem now is that water comes from the dispenser by itself. It seems as if that when the ice maker calls for water that some or all of it now goes to the water dispenser. The water works now when lever is pressed but the random water delivery is a real pain. Is this likely a main board malfunctioning or is there something else going on.

1 Answer

Jeff, If you're sure you didn't cross or damage any of the wires in the freezer wire harness it most likely may be a failed diode 5303918287 / 5303918287 in the fill valve wire harness in the back of the refrigerator.
