This is a Frigidaire oven relay control board. This part is made for the double-oven wall design. The relay control board sends a signal to the main control board, causing the oven to turn on or off. These relay boards are engaged directly by the power button of the unit and the cooking timer. When the relay control board malfunctions or short circuits, the baking and broil functions will be directly affected. The oven may quit powering on altogether if the relay board completely fails. A short in the relay will cause the oven power to function correctly at random times. Wall ovens must be dismounted from their positions to install these parts. Once access is gained to the tear of the stove, the back panel can be removed. The relay control board is located near the bottom of the unit, close to the utility drawer. Unplug the connecting wires and engage the mounting clips holding the board. Discard the old unit, and replace it with the upgrade. Connect the cables and fasten the metal panel on the rear of the oven. Check for proper function before mounting the stove back into the wall. This is a genuine OEM product and is obtained directly from the manufacturer. This part is only compatible with Frigidaire wall ovens.

Tammy, With everything else working but the bake, the issue with the unit will most likely be caused by a faulty control board which would need to be replaced. The part number needed is 318010700.

I have an f1 error code for the upper oven going off on a Frigidaire double wall oven when cooking in the lower oven. There is a lot of steam coming from underneath the display panel from the vent exhaust. I first had intermittent problems with the top oven heating up to temp. ( not every time). I have checked all elements and temp. probs for continuity. I also checked both ovens temp. with a external digital thermometer. I would greatly appreciate any suggestion on where to look next.

1 Answer

Tracy, The issue with the unit would be a runaway temperature. For this error code, check the Sensor probe and replace if necessary. If the oven is overheating then disconnect power. If the oven continues to over heat when power is reapplied then replace the Electronic oven control.

BC, There are 2 possibilities of what the issue could be with the oven. The first would be the thermal circuit breaker 318004900. You will want to check the continuity of the thermal to see if it has continuity. If it is open then it is bad and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then the relay control board 316443911 would be the issue.

Steve, The best way to access the relay board is to try to go through the control panel but if you cannot access that way then from the top.

Hello - I seldom use the lower oven on my double unit. Last week, I turned it on and it very quickle heated to a point where it burned the food and turned the gasket/seal around the edge to charcoal. I cannot turn it off. I turned off the fuse and removed the elements so that I could use the top. I just places the entire control panel and I am still having the same situation. I am wondering if I might need to replace the assembly behind the lower oven control knob? There doesn't seem to be much else in there after replacing the control panel? Also, I am looking for a replacement gasket. Thanks! Elizabeth

The top oven turns on but doesn't go past 135 pre bake. The broiler unit does not work. I got a diagnosis by just using a flashlight-he didn't even open the oven... that the relay board needs to be replaced (part #318022007) but they wanted to charge an arm and a leg. 1) Should I try re-setting something before I try to replace the part? 1) Is this the correct part# for the UPPER relay board (or are they the same) 2) Are there instructions on how to replace? Thank you

1 Answer

MV, You can turn the oven on broil and check on the relay board between L1 and broil and if there is 240 vac then you would want to replace the relay board. If there is not then it would be a different problem.

I have a double oven. Daughter loves to bake some time we use both but mainly one and rotate top and bottom. Started with the oven taking forever to get to set temp. Then the top oven quit heating when I was making dinner. Bottom still worked. week later while daughter making cookies the bottom quit. You can turn it on both bake and broil it says pre heat like normal but nothing happens. no heat on either setting. its like 10 years old never had to anything with it. Thank you

Hello Rose, You will want to check to make sure that the thermal switches have not tripped. The thermals would be located on the back of the unit by where the terminals are for the bake and broil. Check continuity of the switches and if there is no continuity then push red button, release and check continiuty. If still no continuity then the thermals are bad and need replaced. If they check good you will also want to do a resistance check on the oven sensors. They should read about 1090 ohms. If they do not read this at room temp then you will need to replace the sensors. You will also want to check voltage to the elements. With unit in bake mode you should have 240 vac to the elements. If no power then the control is bad and if there is power then the elements are bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
