This is a Frigidaire oven relay control board. This part is made for the double-oven wall design. The relay control board sends a signal to the main control board, causing the oven to turn on or off. These relay boards are engaged directly by the power button of the unit and the cooking timer. When the relay control board malfunctions or short circuits, the baking and broil functions will be directly affected. The oven may quit powering on altogether if the relay board completely fails. A short in the relay will cause the oven power to function correctly at random times. Wall ovens must be dismounted from their positions to install these parts. Once access is gained to the tear of the stove, the back panel can be removed. The relay control board is located near the bottom of the unit, close to the utility drawer. Unplug the connecting wires and engage the mounting clips holding the board. Discard the old unit, and replace it with the upgrade. Connect the cables and fasten the metal panel on the rear of the oven. Check for proper function before mounting the stove back into the wall. This is a genuine OEM product and is obtained directly from the manufacturer. This part is only compatible with Frigidaire wall ovens.

For Frigidaire Oven Relay Control Board (Part Number: OEM6381915)

Hello Joe, If there is a timer on the unit then this sounds like a timer issue. Power not cutting to the motor on the timer.

Hello Ralph, You may want to check your lower oven thermal fuse for continuity. If the thermal fails the lower oven will not work. Also check for voltage at the relay board to make sure that you are getting power to the board and out of the board. If you are not getting power out of board but have power to board then you would have a bad relay board.

John, Your best approach would be to check the voltage across the elements in both the bake and broil selections in both ovens, and track the issue back from there. You'd need to be very carefull conducting these voltage tests. If the voltage is not correct, you'll need to lower the oven control panel, to access and check the oven relay boards 318022001and 318022002 as well as the wiring behind the control panel.

Hello Mick, Since there is no runaway temperature thermal fuse on this model, the issue will be a bad relay on the clock assembly 5304518660.

Hello Ron, I would remove the bake wire from the upper oven relay board 318022002 and make sure there is 240Vac from the wire to the terminal. I'm guessing there won't be 240Vac since this is what it takes to turn the element orange. If you then test from ground to the wire, you should read 120Vac. You should also read 120Vac from ground to the bake terminal. It's my guess that the bake terminal will not show 120Vac. This will be caused by a bad relay on the relay board. If the other leg is the one not showing 120Vac, you will have to trace the circuit back to the element and to the terminal block.

Pete for Model Number PLEB27T8CCA double wall oven

Bottom Oven works fine. Top oven works intermittently; sometimes it will work correctly other times it will not heat or only to warm both bake/broil. All elements and thermostat check out according to spec sheet. Everything on front panel works normally (temp select, light, bake/broil, clock, timer, etc). I can hear the click to turn the heating element on; but usually it only heats to warm. No fault codes shown. From other postings it appears to be the upper relay board. Is there a test using a multimeter I can do on the upper relay board (voltage, continuity, resistance, etc) to be verify that is the problem? I have a multimeter, just need to know where to touch the leads and what the results should be. Thanks for your help.

J T for Model Number PLEB30T8CCB

Hi. I'm trying to repair a Frigidaire Double Oven, model PLEB30T8CCB. The baking elements for both the upper and lower ovens will not heat. When the bake function is turned on with either or both ovens, the broil element starts heating up fast but neither oven's bake elements heat at all. I've read that the broil element is suppose to do 20% of the heating task when bake pre-heat is in progress and the bake elements do the remaider of the job. Is this correct? I've measured the bake elements and they measure about 19 ohms each which I think is normal. Do these symptoms possibly indicate that both relay boards are bad or just one? Would resetting the thermal switch even help, i.e., could the thermal switch open(need resetting)because of the bake elements and the broil elements still work? I hope this makes sense. Thanks

1 Answer

Hello JT. If it were the thermal switches, the broil would not work. It sounds like you need to order and replace both relay boards 318022001 318022002 on the unit. Before doing that though, look and make sure there is no wiring issue causing the issue. If the wiring is bad, the relay board may be good on the unit.

To start first, GREAT SITE, always good information. When I started the only thing that worked was the top bake, after recomendation from you guys I purchased and installed the lower board, now all work except the top broiler, I tested the broiler an it showed ok, then I swapped top an bottom an the top failed to heat. With the broil on, the voltage accross the element plug is very low, about 1+/-, but when I test from broiler plug to ground voltage is about 34 volts. Thanks for any help, again.

Hello Randy. It sounds like the relay board for the upper oven is bad as well in the unit.

This is a follow up to my first question/answer -I am looking at a friends oven for her. I tested it, the top bake works fine and to correct temp. The top an bottom broil an bottom bake do not heat up at all. I tested all of the elements an they show 17-20 ohms. I turned the upper broil on and checked voltage output on lower relay board, this is my results, on left side, L2=14.4 CV=96.1 L2=14.4 DRLK=11.4 RIGHT SIDE BR=+/-1 L2=176 BA=+/-1 Do these results mean the lower board is bad? Thank You

1 Answer

Hello Randy. Yes, based on the test it sounds like the lower board is bad in the unit.
