Andrew April 23, 2014 for Model Number FDB710LCS1 So, the upper sprayer on my unit hasn't been working and so I checked it tonight, and there is almost no water getting to the upper outlet. I removed the check ball (AP2109095), and it is working normally now. There is plenty of water in the basin, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. What does the check ball actually do? It doesn't float, so it doesn't seem to be a safety in case of under fill in the tub. Thanks!
1 Answer Andrew, You will want to make sure that the channel that the check ball sits in is clean and no residue in it to keep it from moving around. The check ball allows the unit to alternate between the top and bottom spray arms for better cleaning as it allows greater pressure to each one when rotating. Read More...
Jerry March 14, 2014 for Model Number GLD2250RDB2 The water to the dishwasher runs continuesly and doen't shut off. What causes this to happen?
Martha December 07, 2012 for Model Number FDB710LCSo Why does the water stay in the machine after the cycle is done? Also where is the drain check valve located on this model?
1 Answer Hello Martha, The check valve would be part of the drain pump. The things to look for is something blocking the water from going into drain pump. Clogged hoses or bad pump 5304463777. Read More...
Larry July 02, 2012 for Model Number GLDB653AS1 Hi, I noticed that my upper spray arm is not operating. I pulled the unit out and observed that the water rises slowly up the delivery tube on the side of the dishwasher. When I tap on the delivery tube the water suddenly rises up the tube with great pressure. I have to tap the tube almost everytime to get the water to flow properly up the delivery tube to the top sprayer. I think the plastic check ball has to be replaced but unsure if it could be some other part. Looking for a little help. Thanks for your time.
1 Answer Larry, First thing, is there a build up of deposits on the tub , racks or filter plates ? Does the dishwasher fill properly, low water level can disrupt the pressure in the pump and cause washability issues. If all checks OK, then check and replace the "check ball" . Thanks Read More...
Bob T February 21, 2012 for Model Number Frigidair dishwasher FDB750%CC0 The check ball- pt number AP2109095 does not shift to port water to the upper spray head. I tried manually starting and stopping the unit running under pressure 3 to 4 times and the water pressure stayed on the lower head. There does not seem to be blockage around the check ball area. 1 Answer Bob, Are you sure you're getting enough water in the tub ? If the dishwasher is filling properly, there should be a t least a slight pause between the end of the fill cycle and the start of the wash cycle, and make sure the filters are not blocked. Here's some information that may be helpful : " The cycle starts with the check ball in the normal position resting at the bottom of the ramp covering the outlet for the upper arm. The outlet is not covered completely by the ball, some water does bypass the ball entering the delivery tube for the upper arm. The majority of the water leaves from the center opening, into the lower spray arm; washing is now into the lower rack To change the spray to the center, the control pauses the wash motor for not more then .6 of a second. During the pause, water pressure on the back of the check ball decreases, this allows the water located in the delivery tube to reenter the sump. The check ball is moved away from the opening by the returning water and is forced up the ramp. Now the wash pump restarts, this creates water pressure in front of the check ball moving it up into the center outlet stopping the lower spray arm. Water exits out the side outlet leading to the center arm and the upper rack. Water sprayed from the center spray arm sprays both into the upper rack and down onto the lower rack. At the same time, the shower nozzle in top of the tub sprays water down onto the upper rack. To return spray to the lower spray arm, the pump is paused for 3 seconds. This longer pause allows all of the water to drain back into the sump from the delivery tube and the check ball to fall back down the ramp to recover the side outlet hole. This completes the change cycle. This cycling between the spray arms continues in all wash and rinse cycles." Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
De September 27, 2011 for Model Number 587.1510.3800 Where does the check ball go? Is it under the volute cover? I see it on the diagram, but unsure of it's location. Thanks Denny
