Henry May 23, 2019 I'm replacing the starter relay on compressor to mini fridge. It's a single prong relay model # QP2-4R7 that goes on compressor # UKN35YA. which wire goes where. There is a blue one and a white one.
1 Answer Hello Henry, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can pull the units' wiring diagram. This will enable us to give you accurate information for your repair. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Joe May 04, 2019 Part #218721106 Start Relay/Overload single unit replaced by #5304410951 (2 piece). Red Wire to Overload; Blue to Terminal 2 on Start relay. How/where do i connect capacitor that used to click into part #218721106?
1 Answer Joe, A model number would have been a better help. In most cases, when the relay/overload kit replaces a start device, the run capacitor (if used) is installed across the run and start windings of the motor relay. The wires from the capacitor would attach to the terminal #@ with the blue wire and the other wire from the capacitor would attach the terminal #3. basically, as best we can tell. Read More...
Tom March 17, 2019 for Model Number GE GFSS6KKYESS I took the wires off the overload and the relay starter for my GE refrigerator compressor. I try to put the wires back to the overload and the start relay. Please help me put these wires back to the right terminals on the overload and the relay starter. I have red wire, blue wire, and blue+pink wire. Why the compressor gets too hot? maybe the overload part is dead? Thank you for the great help.
1 Answer Tom, The red wire is your common and wired to the overload protector and is the single pin on the compressor. The blue wire is the run winding on the compressor and the blue/pink is your start winding. If you do a resistance test on the pins of the compressor from start to common and run to common the start winding will be higher than the run winding so you can tell the difference. Read More...
Shantah September 01, 2018 for Model Number 25350683000 Hello. My original relay is 218721110 and I see it is no longer available and sears sent me the replacement part 5304410951 but the instructions are vague. Am I suppose to wire in the capacitor? To the new relay?
1 Answer Yes, you will want to "wire in" the capacitor to the new overload/relay assembly. It is a "run" capacitor, it reduces to power usage during the compressor run cycle, in turn helps to reduce the heat and operation of the compressor. Read More...

Tony June 12, 2017 for Model Number 25359482993 I have the relay, overload kit. Light blue and red wire only on the refrigerator. I understand that the red goes to the single terminal on the white component. Which terminal on the black component does the light blue attach to? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Tony, The light blue wire will connect to terminal 2 on the start relay. This will be labeled on the relay beside the terminal and you may have to use a flashlight to shine between the terminal and relay housing to actually see the labeling. Read More...
Fabian April 27, 2017 for Model Number FRS26ZSHB4 The ID tag on my refrigerator says FRS26ZSHB4. I don't have any white wires that connected to the old part (218721110), just the red and blue wires. There isn't any white wires at all. On another site it mentioned part #218721110 was discontinued and was linked to replacement part 5304410951 so I ordered that one. The new part has more terminals so I'm not sure where the blue wire goes to. I requested a replacement part since the overload came rattling but now I'm not sure if it was indeed the correct part since your last answer. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Fabian, 218721110 is the part needed for your unit but has still been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. I pulled the tech sheet for the model provided and it still shows a white wire and I found a note that says "WHITE OR LIGHT BLUE WIRE". The red wire will still connect to the overload and the "white or light blue wire" will connect to the number 2 terminal on the relay. Read More...
Fabian April 24, 2017 for Model Number FRS26ZSHB4 I ordered part 5304410951 as a replacement for part 218721110. I only have red and blue wires and green for ground. From what I gather here from other answered questions the red wire would go to the white overload but which terminal would the blue wire go to for my model fridge? Also, I noticed the white overload part I received in the kit rattles. Does that mean the part I received is bad? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Fabian, I'm sorry but the correct start device 218721110 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. The one you have ordered may not be a satisfactory replacement part for the size compressor you have in your unit. I have also pulled the wiring diagram for your unit and it actually shows a white wire to the number 2 terminal on the start relay and a red wire to the overload. We will need you to verify the model number from your units' I.D. tag and post a new question so we can make sure we are giving you good information. A rattle from the start relay normally indicates a shattered disc in the relay, (bad part). Read More...
