This main electronic control board manages refrigerator functions and restores user control to the appliance. Replaces a failed board to return digital controls, cycles, and timed components to normal operation. What it does:

  • Receives and processes user inputs from the control panel and directs functions like cooling cycles and defrost.
  • Controls compressor, fans, and defrost timing so the refrigerator maintains proper temperature regulation.
  • Powers and updates the display and user interface; often replaced when the display or buttons become unresponsive.
  • Common symptom fix: intermittent or complete loss of control panel response, erratic cooling behavior, or failure to initiate defrost cycles.
What's included:
  • One main electronic control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before beginning any repair to avoid electric shock.
  • Handle the board by the edges and avoid static discharge; wear an anti-static wrist strap if available.
  • Verify connector orientation and seating before restoring power; do not force connectors.

Debbie, It sounds like the unit may be stopping at the rinse cycle and you may want to check to see if there is something caught in the screen of the water valve. Also check the pressure hose to make sure that it does not have any holes in it that may cause the pressure switch to think that there is no water in the unit. For the dispenser you will want to check to see if the ports above the fabric softner are not clogged and make sure that the drawer is clean with no clogs.

Hello Bart, It is a possibility that the cold weather could affect the operation of the unit. Could cause belts to slip, if there is a transmission with oild it could cause the oil to thicken and cause noise til it thinned back out. The control unit could potentially be affected by extreme cold. There is no set recommendation from the manufacturer about the temperature that the unit should be in but the best scenario is anything above 40 degrees.

Hello Bobby. Test: 1. Remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. Does the motor spin free? No. Replace the motor. Yes. Go to step (3). 2. Spin the tub pulley. Does the tub spin free? No. Check the tub bearings. Yes. Go to step (3). 3. Disconnect the plug from the motor and measure the resistance of the windings (pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3, pin 2 to pin 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 Ohms. If the readings are correct, replace the speed control board. If the readings are incorrect, replace the motor.

Hello Bobby, The main control 134958213 may be the part you need, but I always check for "voltage in and voltage out". If you have voltage into a control component and no voltage out of that control component, that component is bad. This can quickly be done with a voltage indicator TJMA-49858A. You should unplug the unit for 2 minutes to see if the control will reset to factory default. The fault code indicates a high current situation in the motor so you should check the resistance in the motor with a test meter as per specifications on the tech sheet. In light of the fault code given, it is more likely that you will need the motor control board or the motor. Of course, you should make sure the tub will turn freely by hand first since an item between the tubs will cause a high current situation. There will be a tech sheet in an envelope in the base of the machine that will guide you through the repair. Let us know if we can assist you further.
