This main electronic control board manages refrigerator functions and restores user control to the appliance. Replaces a failed board to return digital controls, cycles, and timed components to normal operation. What it does:

  • Receives and processes user inputs from the control panel and directs functions like cooling cycles and defrost.
  • Controls compressor, fans, and defrost timing so the refrigerator maintains proper temperature regulation.
  • Powers and updates the display and user interface; often replaced when the display or buttons become unresponsive.
  • Common symptom fix: intermittent or complete loss of control panel response, erratic cooling behavior, or failure to initiate defrost cycles.
What's included:
  • One main electronic control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before beginning any repair to avoid electric shock.
  • Handle the board by the edges and avoid static discharge; wear an anti-static wrist strap if available.
  • Verify connector orientation and seating before restoring power; do not force connectors.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Control Board (Main Electronic Control) (Part Number: OEM16885947)

Christopher for Model Number fafs4272lwo

I just replaced a leaking tub to pump hose. After replacing I ran the clean cycle. Tub filled with water, ran through the cycle and then stopped with 8 mins left. Tub did not drain. When I try different cycles it just continues "sensing". I removed the hose and didn't find any kinks or obstructions. Replaced the hose and still have the same problem. Didn't have any issues before I replaced hose. Getting error code E32. Tech sheet says pressure sensor or main control board. Could it be anything else?

1 Answer

Christopher, I would disconnect the pressure sensor hose at the pressure switch and blow through it making sure there is no blockage. Next, you can do a continuity test on the harness between the pressure switch and main control to make sure no wires are damaged. The pressure switch should have a three-wire connection with white being a common and black and blue reading the full or empty status. A continuity test on these wires should tell you if the pressure switch is reading water in the tub or not.

Mark, you may want to check the filter screens on the inlet valve [134637810]. Another thing to check would be to ensure that the pressure hose does not have any thing in it. If you run the washer when empty, if you have a lot of suds appear this can cause pressure build up that will influence the operation of the water level switch.

Hello Paul, You should use the tech sheet to pull any saved fault codes. The most common failure on this design is the door lock 131763256 and the motor control board 134618213. The fault codes will tell on the issue.

Rudsok, Not yet, first check that the door is aligned and closing properly and the door latch assembly locks the door, Then check the cold water faucet and fill valve to make sure there is water supplied and flowing into the washer, first.

Vanessa, Check for a stuck button on the control panel. Then remove power, then the top panel, then the control pnel assembly. separate the control board 809055505 / 137035252 from the control panel and check for damaged or stuck buttons and the plastic return spring assembly for damage. then replace the control board if all's OK.

Hansen, While it is possible that a surge could have caused this error, you will want to check the wiring harness between the main control board and motor control board. If the wiring is bad then correct the wiring issue. If the wiring is good then replace the main board and if this does not correct then replace the motor control board.

Rick, the E35 error code indicates an issue with the pressure switch, since you've replaced it you need to check the air tube from the pressure switch to the drain pump connection. Make sure the tube isn't kinked, twisted, clogged or has a pin hole. If all's OK then replace the control board.

Hello Carlos, the motor control board 134618213 is the first suspect. You can, of course, pull the tech sheet and test the motor windings first to eliminate the spin windings as an issue.
