Donna October 28, 2013 for Model Number Frigidaire Refrigerator #FRS26HF6BQ2 Freezer fine. Frige freezing. Repair guy said to block the air coming from the freezer with some tape until he could get out here. Said I need the entire damper kit part #5304482075. Tape did help to keep it not so cold. He came out & it took him 1 minute to turn the knobs on & off & said it was the kit. Charged me $ 65 for that then it will be another $ 280 for the part & another $ 65 for labor. If it is the kit can I do it myself ?
1 Answer Hello Donna. This is not hard to replace. Just make sure the wires are plugged into the correct terminals. To remove the old and install the new, is just 2 screws to remove. Read More...

Mg September 10, 2013 for Model Number 253.51232100 Keause freezer isn't cold enough. sxs253.51232100 serialr#la12004632 evaporator fan will not run, voltmeter says 62 volts to fan, disconnect fan leads, put 110 volts to fan fan operates.Disconnected fan won't in refrigeration mode.checked thermostats both are closed.Refrigerator side has 3 wire temp control and next to it is freezer control.Compressor runs, condenser fan runs, all lights work.Dispenser on door all works.Ice maker doesn't work, but I am assuming because the freezer isn't cold enough.Do have 120 volts to defrost heater thru bi metal. This has a mechanical control(defrost)
1 Answer MG, You will want to check for power coming off the defrost control to the fan motor which should be a red/white wire to the light blue. If there is no power at this point then the defrost control would need to be replaced. Read More...
Kelly September 08, 2013 for Model Number Frs26h5asb5 My fridge side is not staying cool but the freezer is fine. I have been told it is the control damper (there is no air coming thru it). Is there anything else that could cause that before I spend 250.00 on the part? If I loosen the back screw a little it lets the freezer air in
1 Answer Kelly, If the damper door is not opening then you will want to check to make sure that there is power getting to the damper door to open it. If it has power at the damper motor then the damper is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Shofar August 13, 2013 for Model Number FRS26HF5AW4 I have a side by side Frigidaire FRS26HF5AW4 The fridge side is freezing, have to set it to zero to get it to warm up. Charles August 08, 2013 for Model Number FRS26H5ASB8 My Frigidaire is working but has developed this clicking sound. I purchased the Frig in 2004. At first I thought it was my ice maker but is is like a fan wants to start and takes numerous time before the Frig kicks in. I have disconnected the plug behind the ice maker and the light in the freezer goes off. The sound still comes on. I opened the frig door and the noise seems to becoming from the defrost control. Again the ice maker is turned off with the metal bar on the ice maker is in the up position and the clicking noise will come and go but when it starts clicking the fan will eventually start and the clicking will stop. I was told I need kit 5304482075 and this would probably fix the problem. Does this sound like the solution to my problem? If it is my problem will this kit be better than the original? Charlie
1 Answer Hello Charles. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control box 5304482075 will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Paul July 05, 2013 Frigidaire side by side freezing food on top shelf and not responding to temp control adjustment. Damper would only closed when fridge set to zero. Replaced control and damper with part #5304482075. Now damper only opens when fridge control set to zero. Fridge running warm; freezer is good..
1 Answer Paul, You will want to double check all the wiring to make sure that it is connected properly. The damper should only open when the temp calls for the unit to cycle on and it sounds like the unit may be miswired. Read More...
Kenny May 29, 2013 for Model Number AP5176342 (5304482075) Control box kit 1 I purchased AP5176342 (5304482075) Control box kit 1 for your online store becuase my refridgerator was freezing everything. Now my freezer doesn't freeze and my fridge side doesn't really get cold. Everything is plugged in and it is blowing cold air just not cold enough to freeze or get cold enough to keep food. Is there something I was supposed to adjust in the installation? The instructions didn't mention anything.
1 Answer Hello Kenny. You need to check and make sure the ends of the cold controls are in the proper location. If not, then it will not cool properly. They need to be in the same location as the old ones were. Read More...
Joe May 28, 2013 for Model Number Sears model 253.53612300 In my parts page for the refrigerator it lists P/N 240448303 as the temperature control. When I search for this item your site wants me to get a kit to replace the whole upper control system which includes the freezer control and all the wiring and housings. Why???? Why can't I just replace the control itself and not everything?
1 Answer Hello Joe! Unfortunately, the original refrigerator temp control has been discontinued. The only way to obtain this control is by purchasing the control box offered from the manufacturer, part number 5304482075. Sorry about that! Read More...
Dougb May 02, 2013 for Model Number 253.53622300 OBJECTIVE: Reduce the temperature on the fresh food side of my refrigerator after installing a new damper control kit. What can I do to? BACKGROUND AND DETAILS Just replaced the 5304482075 Damper Control Kit with Heater for Refrigerator due to the refrigerator side was freezing and all attempts to change the settings of the freezer and refrigerator did not work. Since installing the new damper control kit the refrigerator is now too warm. I continued to move the temperature control to the the coldest setting and now it's on the coldest setting. The temp hovers at 40 and above. I've tried to adjust the freezer temp lower with no affect. When I pulled the old unit out the plastic cover for the temperature probe did not come out of the freezer through the damper opening. I couldn't see it so I installed the new probe with the new sleeve on. Seemed to go in fine. While inserting the new probe through the damper opening the styrofoam tube/slot for the probe broke off. I removed the small piece of styrofoam and successfully inserted the probe through the damper opening.
1 Answer Hello Dougb. Check and make sure the micro-switch is in the correct location on the damper assembly. Read More...
