Lystra-Ann, For this issue the most likely cause will be a thermostat for the fan or the control board that would be faulty and need to be replaced.

Where can I find a replacement clear dark gray/black plastic cover to go over the LED on part 316441801 (surface element board)? A spill on the stove melted it away. I am replacing the element board with a new LED, but it does not come with the clear plastic cover. It appears to be attached to the backguard (part 19 in the manual, which is no longer available. Nothing else is wrong with the cover (backguard). I just need the small window covering which appears to be about 1" wide and 5/8" tall over the LED itself that seals it off. Can something else be used and glued in place on the underside of the backguard to cover the LED?

1 Answer

PJ, Unfortunately that cover is part of the control panel which has been discontinued. There would not be a suitable part to replace this.

Hello Jim. Remove the surface switch knobs. Remove the 4 plastic rings holding the control panel in place. Remove the six screws holding the inner part of the control panel. Now you can access and replace the switch in the unit.

KeithB, With the element coming on by itself and staying on without being able to be shut off, this would be a faulty potentiometer. The part number that you would need is 316441801.

I have a couple problems. This stove has had problems from the beginning. Part of the wiring harness has been replaced. When all the burners are running the circuit breaker under the control panel kicks out. The broiler hasn't worked for years. The latest is 3 of the burner displays show - - & don't work. The oven door is locked & oven doesn't work. The only thing that works is one burner. This latest problem started after liquid was spilled on the top.

Leonard, For the first part of the question of the thermal overload tripping out under the unit, the main top of the unit does not have a circuit breaker or thermal cutoff for it. With the issues that you are having it sounds like it would be a faulty main control board that is not allowing the broil not to work and possible a wire harness issue between the display for the burners and the oven control board. It sounds like the thermal cutoff may be weak and need to be replaced. The control would likely be the issue with the door locking and cause the oven to not work.

Pam, The Error code that you are receiving is most likely a open probe connection which you will want to check the resistance of the sensor at room temperature. The resistance should be 1090 ohms. If the resistance does not check ok then replace the sensor probe. If the resistance checks ok then check the sensor wiring harness between the EOC and sensor probe connector. Sensor is located in the oven.
